{kanada_flagge}Queensland Gold Hills Corp. (TSXV: OZAU; FRA: MB3) has successfully completed the first eleven reverse circulation drill holes at its Big Hill property in the historic Talgai goldfield in Queensland, Australia. A total of 1457 meters were drilled. All samples were sent to the assay laboratory (ALS Global – Brisbane) for assaying, with results pending. The objective of the drill holes was to explore the feeder systems beneath the historic mining areas of the Queenslander Mine.
All eleven holes intersected the Queenslander vein system and provided sufficient samples to determine the continuity and grades of mineralization approximately 100 meters down dip from the base of the historic workings. The mineralization was characterized by variably developed quartz veins associated with sericite and pyrite and some arsenopyrite alteration. The vein geometry is no longer vertical in the area of the historic workings, but dips approximately 70 degrees to the south at depth. The Company looks forward to receiving assay results to gain a better understanding of the mineralized veins identified beneath the historic workings.
Blair Way, CEO and Director of Queensland Gold Hills commented, “The drill program went very well and as expected we encountered mineralization below the historic workings that we had targeted for exploration. We were able to complete the program in less time than expected as we intersected the veins in sufficient numbers to effectively evaluate these potential feeder locations. We look forward to announcing the survey results in the coming weeks.”

The Big Hill gold property consists of a single exploration permit covering 24 square kilometers and includes two separate mining leases. The permit covers the historic Big Hill, Queenslander, Monte Cristo and Sultan & Taylor mines on the Talgai goldfield. Talgai is one of eight historic goldfields in the broader Warwick Texas district that were active in the late 19th century and include the Canal Creek, Thanes Creek, Leyburn, Palgrave, Pikedale, Lucky Valley, and MacDonald goldfields. Both alluvial and reef mining was undertaken at these mines, with the Queenslander Mine standing out as the first gold mine in the state of Queensland with total production of 4.1 kilos of gold at an average grade of 50 g/t, with some early crushes reported up to 4000 g/t. The majority of production at the historic mines in the Warwick Texas district occurred from the first discovery in 1864 to the early 1900s.
Bottom line: the first part of the plan has already worked. Queenland Gold has hit the vein systems below the historic Queenslander Mine where they were suspected. All eleven drill holes have been successful in this regard. Assay results are expected shortly. Perhaps the historic mining camp will be successfully awakened using modern exploration methods. One can be curious about the results.
