Sranan Gold: Following high-grade drilling results, the next drilling campaign will start in 2026

Ore from Sranan Gold from Suriname on Goldinvest

Last year, Sranan Gold reported high-grade gold discoveries and a significant expansion of mineralization at the Tapanahony Gold Project in Suriname – in 2026, the focus will be on further drilling along the Randy-Poeketi trend.

Sranan Gold is advancing on Tapanahony from early-stage exploration to a systematic drilling campaign

Sranan Gold (CSE: SRAN / WKN: A416C1) looks back on an eventful exploration year in 2025 at its Tapanahony Gold Project in Suriname. On the 29,000-hectare project area, the range of work extended from initial high-grade grab samples with up to 108 g/t gold to significant drill intercepts, including 64.0 meters averaging 3.0 g/t gold.

In the course of the work, the Sranan team was able to define an approximately 4.5-kilometer-long, northwest-southeast striking mineralized shear zone – the so-called Poeketi–Randy’s-Pit trend. Along this trend, numerous small-scale miners are already active, mining quartz- and sulfide-bound gold via shafts to depths of up to 80 meters.

In the first half of 2025, Sranan Gold validated historical data, deployed LiDAR and geophysical surveys, and refined the geological model for the Tapanahony Gold Project. At the same time, camp infrastructure and facilities for drill core processing were established to enable a subsequent systematic drilling campaign.

Randy’s Pit: High-grade gold zones from the surface to fresh rock

A focus of the work in 2025 was the Randy’s Pit area, which has emerged as an important gold target within the Tapanahony Gold Project. Initially, Sranan Gold concentrated on confirming and expanding the mineralization around the existing artisanal mining sites.

Samples from shafts at Randy’s Pit returned values of, among others, 76.6 g/t gold and 23.7 g/t gold, confirming the presence of high-grade gold mineralization. At the same time, they provided indications of the orientation of the quartz veins and the accompanying alteration zones.

To test the continuity of gold mineralization near the surface, Sranan Gold opened first trenches south of the previous mining areas in August 2025. A trench located approximately 150 meters south of Randy’s Pit yielded a section of 5 meters averaging 36.7 g/t gold. Subsequent trenches in September confirmed the extension of the zone with another 5 meters at 8.9 g/t gold. These results show that the high-grade gold mineralization continues beyond the known artisanal pits within a broader structural corridor.

Based on the geological interpretation, Sranan Gold started the first diamond drilling program on the Randy’s Pit trend in August 2025. The very first borehole 25RADD-001 intersected 11.5 meters with 3.64 g/t gold in a weathered saprolite zone about 300 meters north of Randy’s Pit, confirming the continuity of gold mineralization away from small-scale mining.

With the shift of drilling into the fresh rock below and next to Randy’s Pit, further hits followed. The first four boreholes consistently delivered significant gold intercepts, crowned by borehole 25RADD-004, which intersected 64.0 meters with 3.0 g/t gold – including a 5-meter interval with 33.5 g/t gold, in which even visible gold was observed.

This broad, high-grade zone supports the interpretation that Randy’s Pit is part of a larger, structurally controlled gold system that continues into the depth in the unweathered bedrock.

Continuity along the trend: Drilling results significantly expand gold system

After the discovery at Randy’s Pit, Sranan Gold focused on step-out drilling to better understand the continuity of gold mineralization along the strike and in the depth. Further boreholes yielded broad mineralized intervals, including:

22.4 meters averaging 2.44 g/t gold (borehole 25RADD-006) and
19.0 meters with 1.68 g/t gold (borehole 25RADD-009)

By the end of 2025, the company had drilled a total of 4,189 meters in 19 diamond boreholes along the Randy’s-Pit trend. As a result, the mineralized strike length, originally defined only by artisanal mining, could be extended from approximately 150 meters to more than 800 meters. The system remains open both along the strike and in the depth and is interpreted as a section of the total 4.5-kilometer-long Randy–Poeketi trend.

The drill intercepts underscore that the gold mineralization at Randy’s Pit is not limited to individual, narrow veins, but extends over significant thicknesses within a structurally controlled shear zone. For Sranan Gold, this forms the basis to further systematically test the potential for a larger gold deposit.

Poeketi Zone: Second core area with high-grade samples

While Randy’s Pit was the focus of drilling in 2025, part of the exploration budget flowed into the further development of the Poeketi Zone at the northwestern end of the Randy–Poeketi trend.

Approximately 3 kilometers northwest of Randy’s Pit, Sranan Gold investigated existing underground mining sites and conducted targeted sampling. Grab samples with grades of up to 26.7 g/t gold and 25.8 g/t gold were obtained – in accordance with earlier results of up to 108 g/t gold.

Although such samples have a selective character and are not representative of the entire rock, they support the interpretation that Poeketi and Randy’s Pit are part of a coherent gold system. Sranan Gold estimates the interpreted strike length of the Poeketi target at approximately 1,000 meters in the meantime. Poeketi is therefore considered a priority target for future drilling.

Sranan Gold: Exploration focus 2026 on expansion of the gold system

With the conclusion of the exploration year 2025, Sranan Gold has several cornerstones for further development on the Tapanahony Gold Project: a high-grade discovery at Randy’s Pit, proven continuity of gold mineralization over hundreds of meters, and a growing list of drilling targets along the Randy–Poeketi trend.

For 2026, the company plans therefore:

  • Further drilling around Randy’s Pit to expand the gold mineralization both along the strike and in the depth.
  • First drilling in the Poeketi Zone to systematically review the high-grade grab sample results from the artisanal pits.
  • The expansion of exploration along the entire Randy–Poeketi corridor to define additional targets within the 4.5-kilometer-long shear zone.

According to company information, this work plan is to be implemented in a disciplined, data-driven approach. This positions Sranan Gold for the next phase of value creation on its Tapanahony Gold Project in Suriname – with clear focuses on the expansion of the known gold system and the exploration of further high-grade target areas.
