In this video, Kelly Johnston, who is responsible for the current drilling program of Sranan Gold (CSE: SRAN; FSE/Tradegate: P84) at the Tapanahony Gold Project in Suriname, explains the work in detail. He elaborates on how the use of local teams and company-owned drilling equipment significantly increased efficiency.
Kelly describes that he was already active in the South American country in 2023 as part of the Founders Metals team. This team experience allowed for a smoother start and resulted in less onboarding effort. Furthermore, Kelly emphasizes that the local team is now being trained according to North American standards – with the goal of independently performing maintenance and troubleshooting, which reduces downtime.
According to the expert, an average drilling performance of 90 to 100 meters per day is currently achieved, with increasing productivity per drill hole. Kelly also mentions that a second drilling rig is expected to become operational in the next two weeks to further expand capacities.
The interview provides insight into the operational progress and logistical improvements at the Tapanahony Gold Project. It demonstrates how targeted training and technical equipment can sustainably increase on-site efficiency.
