Formation Metals delivers massive gold hits: N2 drilling program is picking up serious momentum!

Formation Metals (WKN A3D492 / CSE FOMO) is rapidly advancing work on its N2 gold project in Québec, reporting new drilling results from its ongoing, fully funded 30,000-meter program. The company, led by CEO Deepak Varshney, is once again reporting substantial gold mineralization intercepts!

This time, the focus is on drill holes N2-25-001, 002, 003, 004, 006, and 009. According to the company, the current results—particularly in the so-called A-Zone—confirm the geological continuity of the gold mineralization and again provide thick intercepts that further sharpen the image of a near-surface system with potential open-pit relevance. This takes on particular significance as the new data closely aligns with the historical database while simultaneously providing additional evidence of a broader mineralized “envelope.”

The N2 gold project is located 25 kilometers south of Matagami in Québec. Historically, the project hosts a global resource of approximately 871,000 ounces of gold. Of this, approximately 810,000 ounces are attributed to 18 million tonnes at 1.4 g/t gold across four zones—A, East, RJ-East, and Central—as well as a further 61,000 ounces in 243,000 tonnes at 7.82 g/t gold in the RJ zone. Against this backdrop, the current drilling results play a central role as Formation Metals is now verifying and expanding the existing database with a modern, large-scale program.

Formation Metals confirms continuity in the A-Zone with strong drilling results

The strongest results came from drill holes N2-25-004, N2-25-006, and N2-25-009 in the A-Zone. N2-25-004 intersected 0.83 g/t gold over 40.4 meters starting from a depth of 180.0 meters. This included an intercept of 1.36 g/t gold over 9.0 meters. N2-25-006 delivered 1.8 g/t gold over 21.1 meters from 154.4 meters, including 3.6 g/t gold over 4.8 meters. N2-25-009 yielded 1.37 g/t gold over 24.0 meters from 168.9 meters, including 2.05 g/t gold over 13.3 meters.

According to Formation Metals’ assessment, these three drill holes are particularly important because, at a spacing of approximately 55 meters each, they confirm the continuity of a significant bulk-tonnage system at depth. At the same time, the data improves confidence in the three-dimensional geological model and, from the company’s perspective, reduces technical risk for the next development steps.

It is also noteworthy that the new results do not stand in isolation. They build on previously reported holes that had already yielded broad near-surface intercepts. For instance, N2-25-005 had delivered 0.91 g/t gold over 42.3 meters from 14.0 meters, including 2.04 g/t gold over 8.1 meters. N2-25-012 yielded 1.75 g/t gold over 30.4 meters from 64.1 meters, including 3.51 g/t gold over 10.5 meters and 19.2 g/t gold over 0.51 meters. This picture is complemented by N2-25-007 with 1.3 g/t gold over 22.2 meters, N2-25-008 with 0.95 g/t gold over 61.1 meters, and N2-25-010 with 1.43 g/t gold over 19.4 meters.

N2 gold project shows broader mineralized corridor

From the combination of these drill holes, Formation Metals derives a consistent gold-bearing corridor approximately 300 meters long. According to the company, this development indicates significant near-surface bulk-tonnage potential along a total strike length of 8 kilometers. It is particularly relevant that not only was the main mineralization confirmed, but several drill holes also intersected parallel secondary and tertiary vein packages above and below the main zone.

These additional zones in particular could be decisive for the N2 gold project. In N2-25-004, 0.4 g/t gold over 4.6 meters and 0.41 g/t gold over 4.0 meters were encountered above the main zone. N2-25-006 delivered 0.66 g/t gold over 38.6 meters above and 0.67 g/t gold over 22.1 meters below the main zone. N2-25-009 intersected 0.61 g/t gold over 42.1 meters above and 0.96 g/t gold over 23.2 meters below. This significantly increases the potential overall mineralized package.

Formation Metals points out that if continuity persists over a greater distance, this could result in a significantly wider potential mining envelope. The company speaks of a cumulative mineralized thickness of up to approximately 93 meters along the drill hole and a width of about 100 meters. This is promising for further project development, as not only the grades but also the thickness and spatial coherence play an important role in the subsequent resource definition.

RJ-Zone also delivers new data

In addition to the A-Zone, Formation Metals has also presented results from the RJ-Zone. N2-25-001 delivered, among others, 0.23 g/t gold over 6.6 meters and 0.11 g/t gold over 10.2 meters. N2-25-002 yielded 0.34 g/t gold over 24.4 meters, including 0.89 g/t gold over 4.8 meters and 1.54 g/t gold over 1.9 meters. In N2-25-003, 3.0 g/t gold over 4.5 meters was intersected, including 14.06 g/t gold over 0.9 meters, as well as 0.6 g/t gold over 11.8 meters.

These values show that Formation Metals is collecting data across several zones of the N2 gold project in parallel. While the current focus is clearly on the A-Zone and the definition of a broad near-surface system, the RJ-Zone remains an important part of the overall story as a high-grade area.

Formation Metals working toward an initial resource estimate

To date, Formation Metals has completed a total of 46 drill holes totaling 14,466 meters as part of Phase 1. Assay results are still pending for 39 drill holes. Drilling is scheduled to resume at the end of May. Phase 1 serves to close gaps near the surface, increase confidence in the near-surface mineralization, test extensions along strike and down-dip, and simultaneously obtain representative core material for metallurgical studies.

The fully funded 30,000-meter program aims to delineate a near-surface resource with a potential open-pit focus. Formation Metals is concentrating on an 8-kilometer corridor where two drill rigs are currently operating in the A and RJ zones. Following the completion of the current Phase 1 drilling, an initial resource estimate for the N2 gold project is expected to be presented as early as the third quarter. The current results provide another building block for this, as they both confirm the historical database and support the model of a broader, multi-veined gold system.
