Sitka Gold ventures two step-out drill holes on new Josephine Instrusion at RC Gold Project

How big is the real potential of Sitka Gold’s (CSE:SIG; FSE:1RF; OTCQB:SITKF) “Clear Creek Intrusive Complex,” which has so far yielded the Blackjack, Saddle and Eiger discoveries, but in turn represents only a small part of the 376 sq km RC Gold Project in the Yukon? Were the drilling successes to date perhaps just the prelude to something even bigger?

The Clear Creek Intrusive Complex has been growing rapidly of late. Additional surface work has extended the gold corridor an additional 3000 meters to the east and now includes the Josephine Intrusion (see Figure 1). Systematic surface rock sampling along this newly identified intrusion approximately 2 kilometers east of the Eiger Zone returned attractive gold values up to 5.45 g/t gold. Seven of the 30 rock samples evaluated to date returned results greater than 1.0 g/t Au and 13 returned values greater than 0.10 g/t Au. Sitka now intends to explore the potential of the new zone for the first time with two bold step-out diamond drill holes. The first drill hole at the so-called Target A is already underway. There, geologists have found extensive veins in metasedimentary rocks near the intrusion, which returned gold values of 1.88 and 1.34 g/t gold. The second drill hole being tested is Target B, about 500 m away. Its extensive veins in intrusive rock returned values of 5.45, 3.47 and 1.31 g/t gold.

Cor Coe, Director and CEO of Sitka Gold commented, “We are pleased to conduct the first diamond drilling in the Josephine Intrusion, one of the six intrusions in the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex. The discovery of visible gold in the altered rocks adjacent to the intrusion during geological mapping and subsequent prospecting, which identified gold-bearing foliated veins both within the intrusion and in the adjacent altered rocks, highlights the potential of the Josephine Intrusion. The intrusion is not readily visible at surface, so we look forward to using the drill to get a first look at the potential of the Josephine intrusion, which could be the third intrusion on the project to host a gold deposit.”

Two drill holes are planned to test two targets located approximately 500 meters apart along the southern margin of the Josephine intrusion (see Figure 2). A second diamond drill rig has been dispatched to the RC Gold Project to test drilling on these targets.

Conclusion: In figure skating, the free skating comes after the compulsory skating. Sitka Gold also adheres to this order: While the 10,000 m drill program on the known targets - especially on Blackjack - is more of a compulsory program, the two step-out diamond drill holes on the new Josephine target are clearly part of the free skating. Here Sitka can not only meet expectations, but really surprise - anything is possible. After the recent entry of a Snowline major shareholder, perhaps even some "Snowline fantasy" could come into the stock. We are eager to see.
