Strong potential for additional discoveries
The newly identified mineralized Blackjack Corridor at the RC Gold Project in the Yukon is beginning to meet the high expectations geologists at Sitka Gold Corp. (TSXV: SIG; FSE: 1RF; OTCQB: SITKF) had for this kilometre-long trend south of the known Blackjack gold resource. Sitka has just released results from four additional drill holes DDRCCC-24-059, -060, -61 and 062 from the current season, all showing strong gold mineralization south of the known Blackjack zone. Hole DDRCCC-24-062 returned 290.5 meters of 1.10 g/t gold, including 1 105.0 meters of 1.68 g/t gold and 34.5 meters of 2.61 g/t gold, making it one of the most successful holes drilled on the project during the entire drilling campaign. DDRCCC-24-061 returned 206.0m of 0.64 g/t gold, including 27.0m of 1.01 g/t gold and 1.0m of 23.7 g/t gold.
To date in 2024, the Company has completed ten diamond drill holes at the Blackjack Zone, totaling approximately 5,050 metres of the planned 15,000 metre diamond drill program for 2024. The Company currently has two diamond drill rigs operating on the property, one to continue the Blackjack resource expansion program and one to complete the first diamond drill hole on the Rhosgobel target since the initial reverse circulation drilling in 1995 by Kennecott. Drilling at the Blackjack Zone continues to intersect visible gold, with multiple occurrences of visible gold observed in hole 67.
Cor Coe, Director and CEO of Sitka Gold, commented, “Drilling continues to extend gold mineralization south of the Blackjack Gold Deposit. Some of our highest grade gold intercepts reported to date in hole 62 were drilled 145 meters southeast of the current pit limit and 185 meters south of hole 31, the southernmost hole in the current published resource. The step-out drilling south of the Blackjack deposit shows that mineralization continues along the newly identified Blackjack mineralized corridor, which has been traced for several kilometers to the south through the Pukelman West and Rhosgobel intrusions. Results from recent drilling also show that gold mineralization appears to be getting stronger at depth, suggesting that a fully preserved intrusion-related gold system is present. With two drill rigs now in operation, we look forward to additional expansion drilling at our Blackjack deposit as we drill additional targets at RC Gold, including Rhosgobel where drilling is currently underway.”
Conclusion: Sitka’s exploration thesis is paying off. The recent success of step-out drilling south of the Blackjack deposit shows that mineralization continues along the newly identified Blackjack mineralized corridor. As an extra bonus, the gold mineralization appears to be getting stronger at depth, suggesting that a fully preserved intrusion-related gold system may be present. Sikta can look forward to the approximately 10,000 of drilling that remain this season alone.
