Fully financed for 30,000 meters of drilling this year
Sitka Gold Corp. (TSXV:SIG; FSE:1RF; OTCQB:SITKF) continued to deliver drill results beyond the magical 100 grams/meter gold mark in series during the 2024 exploration season at its RC project in Yukon.
Highlights included 191.0 m of 1.16 g/t gold from 327 m in DDRCCC-24-057, including 54.6 m of 2.54 g/t gold from 453.4 m; 154.0 m of 1.47 g/t gold from 354.0 m in DDRCCC- 24-058 including 37.0 m of 3.07 g/t gold from 449.0 m; 290.5 m of 1.10 g/t gold from 236.0 m in DDRCCC-062 including 105.0 m of 1.68 g/t gold from 421.6 m; 9 9.2 m of 1.01 g/t gold from 448.5 m in DDRCCC-24-067; 678.1 m of 1.04 g/t gold from 4.4 m in DDRCCC-24-068, including 93.0 m of 2.57 g/t gold from 589.5 m; 8 5.0 m of 1.12 g/t gold from 433 m in DDRCCC-24-072 and 119.0 m of 1.05 g/t gold from 30.0 m in DDRGCC-24-001, including 37.9 m of 2.05 g/t gold from 98.5 m.
Since the discovery hole at the end of 2021, Sitka has thus exceeded the 100 gram/meter gold mark in a total of 22 holes. Only nine of these holes are included in the initial resource calculated in early January 2023. The other 13 holes with more than 100 grams/meter are outside the resource. The top-performing hole was DDRCCC-24-068 with 705.2 grams/metre gold. With these results, the mineralized system of the Blackjack deposit now extends well beyond the maiden resource announced in January 2023.
The Company has completed 9,264 metres of drilling this year focused on the expansion of the Blackjack zone and has also completed initial diamond drilling of the Rhosgobel and Pukelman intrusions, with significant gold mineralization intersected in all intrusions targeted. As with the Blackjack discoveries, visible gold was observed in the very first diamond drill holes in the Rhosgobel and Pukelman intrusions, located approximately 5 km south and 2.5 km southeast of the Blackjack deposit, respectively, demonstrating the extent and robustness of gold mineralization in the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex.
Cor Coe, Director and CEO of Sitka Gold, commented, “Our work at RC Gold over the past year continues to demonstrate the tremendous potential of this property for large, economic gold resources. The 2024 results have highlighted the continued and strong gold values present on multiple targets across this project, with numerous occurrences of visible gold observed and multiple intercepts of +100 grams observed across multiple drill holes on the Blackjack target and in our initial drilling on the Rhosgobel and Pukelman intrusions. Drilling at RC Gold has now confirmed the presence of potentially economic-grade gold mineralization within four of the known gold-bearing intrusions tested to date within the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex, at the Blackjack, Eiger, Rhosgobel and Pukelman targets, demonstrating the exceptional potential of this gold system for multiple gold deposits of significant size and grade. Drilling has also significantly increased the potential tonnage of our Blackjack gold deposit and has returned some exceptional results including our best intercept to date in hole 68 which returned 678.1 meters grading 1.04 grams per tonne gold. Blackjack has produced many impressive drill intercepts since our discovery in late 2021, including twenty-two (22) intercepts grading over 100 grams/meter, of which thirteen (13) are outside of the initial resource area, demonstrating the growing size and grade potential of this gold deposit. With a fully funded 30,000-meter drill program planned for 2025, we look forward to building on the success of the past year as we aim to unlock additional value at RC Gold for our shareholders.”
Figure 1: Overview map showing multiple high priority target areas within the recently consolidated Clear Creek intrusive complex with soil gold geochemical anomalies. 2024 drilling focused on testing multiple targets including resource expansion at Blackjack and first diamond drilling at the Rhosgobel and Pukelman intrusions within this large mineralized system. All areas tested in 2024 intersected +100 g-m gold in drill holes, indicating potentially economic, reduced intrusion-related gold mineralization.
Figure 2: Examples of visible gold observed in drill holes 71 and 72 in the Blackjack zone and in drill hole 73 in the Pukelman intrusion.
Conclusion: Considering that Sitka Gold has only drilled 72 diamond drill holes totaling approximately 25,136 meters since it began work on the Clear Creek Complex, it is clear how recent Sitka Gold’s discovery really is. The original 1,340,000 ounce gold resource was based on just 11,630 meters of drilling in 34 holes, with 22 holes totaling 7,492 meters from the Blackjack deposit. Nine of these holes at Blackjack were above the 100 gram/metre mark, helping to make Blackjack the main contributor to the resource, with a share of 900,000 ounces. The fact that 13 other holes outside the resource area have now returned results of more than 100 grams/meter – along with the holes from the new Rhosgobel and Pukelman areas – shows the growth potential for Blackjack and the entire Clear Creek Complex in the future. We look forward to the upcoming 2025 drill season, in which Sitka is expected to more than double its previously drilled meters. 30,000 meters of drilling are planned for 2025. And the best part is that this drilling is already fully funded.
