0.99 g/t gold over 236.88 meters drilled as part of even wider intercept!

The latest results from the 2024 drilling campaign of Golden Cariboo Resources (CSE: GCC, FSE: 3TZ, WKN: A402CQ) are once again a real bombshell! As the company just announced, drill hole QGQ24-20 in the Halo Zone discovery has discovered another thick intersection of high-grade gold mineralization!

The Halo Zone is part of Golden Cariboo’s Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property and CEO Frank Callaghan’s company hit 0.71 g/t gold and 6.96 g/t silver over a whopping 341.96 meters with QGQ24-20! And the gold mineralization started at a depth of just 20.12 metres below surface…

As if that were not enough, this massive, mineralized section also contains several very long intervals with significantly higher metal contents. These include

– 0.99 g/t gold with 9.8 g/t silver over 236.88 meters incl.
– 1.45 g/t gold and 16.05 g/t silver over 137.7 meters!

Also included in this final intercept are mineralized intervals of 7.36 g/t gold with 164.95 g/t silver over 11.95 metres and 16.35 g/t gold with 9.09 g/t silver over 4.29 metres. (However, drill core recoveries for these latter intervals were only 43% and 46%, respectively, which could result in lower overall values due to the loss of mineralized, sulphide-bearing, brecciated, fractured and/or altered material).

Halo zone extended horizontally by 100 meters to the northwest

With the spectacular drill intercepts presented today, Golden Cariboo has extended the Halo Zone by another 100 meters to the northwest from drill hole QGQ24-19. Today’s drill hole QGQ24-20 is the furthest northwest drill hole on the property to date. Golden Cariboo has now delineated an irregular body measuring approximately 320 x 290 x 320 meters for the Halo Zone. However, mineralization remains open to the northwest and to depth. This includes 718 meters of untested strike to the north-northwest towards the past producing Pioneer Mine!

Important insights gained

Hole QGQ24-20, drilled at an azimuth of 354° and dip of -45°, was the final hole of the 2024 drill program and was designed to establish continuity of the Halo Zone to the northwest and test for higher grades previously encountered in the western portion of the zone, particularly in QGQ24-13, which returned 136.51 metres of 1.77 g/t gold! With hole QGQ24-20, Golden Cariboo has again successfully intersected higher gold grades associated with a major fault along a greenstone contact between the mafic to intermediate volcanic host rocks and the gold mineralization (greenstones) and a black argillite unit.

The historic Quesnelle Quartz Mine on the property is similarly located along the greenstone contact and marks a significant development as the greenstone contact was first encountered in the Halo Zone in QGQ24-20. The Halo Zone and the Quesnelle Quartz Mine are both located within a several kilometer long trend that extends across the property. In subsequent drill holes, Golden Cariboo will now test the northwest continuity of the Halo Zone along the greenstone contact.

Significant discovery in the Cariboo Gold District

As Golden Cariboo’s CEO Frank Callaghan explained, these remarkable drill results mark the end of a remarkable year for Golden Cariboo. The fact that the company has once again succeeded in delivering such an exceptional mineralized intersection a 100 meters from the previous drill hole confirms the Halo Zone as a significant discovery in the Cariboo Gold District, Callaghan said. The Golden Cariboo CEO pointed out that greenstone contact zones are found in many of the world’s most important gold camps – and that Golden Cariboo has now demonstrated one just 4 kilometers from a major highway and community in the middle of British Columbia.

“The next chapter of another bedrock source of the long and storied Cariboo Gold Fields is now being written in Hixon,” Mr. Callaghan explained.

It will be very exciting to see how this new chapter continues, as Golden Cariboo has already started the 2025 exploration program, including drilling. Among other things, soil samples taken in 2024 have identified a zone of anomalous gold values that runs north/northwest across the entire survey grid. The strike length is at least 1,650 meters and is open for extension both to the north and south. The company’s geologists also explained that this zone is directly related to the known gold mineralization of the Halo and North Hixon zones. Additional significant gold targets have also been highlighted, and the company is already analyzing the data received in detail. We will definitely stay tuned!
