In this video, Quimbaya Gold CEO (CSE:QIM) Alexandre Poinvier discusses the initial drilling results from the Dahami South project in close proximity to Aris Mining’s Segovia operations in Colombia. The results confirm two vein systems with strike lengths of 1.6 and 2.2 kilometers, respectively, that are mineralized – including gold, silver, zinc, and lead – and remain open along strike and at depth.
Poinvier explains that the veins exhibit similar characteristics to those of the neighboring Segovia mine of Aris Mining, particularly with regard to vein width (averaging about one meter) and grade. To date, up to 9.8 g/t gold equivalent and 500 g/t silver have been measured. The structure is open and mineralized, which means further potential for tonnes and ounces.
The ongoing exploration comprises 4,000 meters of drilling, of which four holes are still awaiting analysis results. In parallel, geophysical surveys (IP and MAC) and geochemical mapping are underway to define new target areas for a second drilling campaign. In addition, Quimbaya is planning initial drilling in the neighboring Tahami Center porphyry-epithermal project.
