2025 Will Be an Exciting Chapter for Heritage
On the board of Heritage Mining (WKN A3DTM6 / CSE HML), Thomas Reid is now taking over the responsibilities of James Fairbairn, who is stepping down from the Heritage Mining board with immediate effect. Previously, the new board member had worked at Sun Life Financial for over 30 years.
CEO Peter Schloo and Thomas Reid know each other well, as there was a time when both had already successfully worked together at the financial services provider Sun Life Financial. This successful cooperation is now to be continued at Heritage Mining.
After joining Sun Life in 1994, Thomas Reid quickly took on leadership roles. He was responsible for areas including finance, corporate development, public and investor relations. From 2009 to 2020, he led the Group Retirement Services business, increasing assets under management from $30 billion to $130 billion.
For the last four years, Tom Reid, who is also a certified public accountant and tax advisor, was responsible for Sun Life’s strategy and growth team in Canada. Together with the team, they explored how Sun Life could best invest in new businesses to accelerate the group’s growth in Canada.
A Successful Team Pulls Together Again at Heritage Mining
“I look forward to working with Peter Schloo and the experienced Heritage Mining team to further develop the company’s project portfolio in Ontario,” said the new Heritage board member on the occasion of his appointment. “Peter has always demonstrated excellent work ethic and pursued an excellent business approach. That’s why I’ve always supported Heritage. I look forward to creating value for our stakeholders. 2025 will be an exciting chapter for us.”
CEO Peter Schloo is also very much looking forward to working with his long-time colleague again: “I’m pleased to have Tom on the board of Heritage Mining. I worked under Tom in my previous position at Sun Life and improved operational efficiency through automation and coding in the finance department. Sun Life was a fantastic place to learn and create value. I would also like to thank Jim for his contributions as a director and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Jim was one of the first directors at Heritage and has created substantial value for our stakeholders.”
