{kanada_flagge}After further successful reconnaissance drilling, Tembo Gold Corp. (TSX-V: TEM; FSE:T23A) is now ready for a drilling program that systematically targets a maiden resource for the first time. This is the main outcome of recent diamond drilling at Nyakagwe Village (see Figure 1). Drilling has confirmed a 200 m wide, south-dipping zone containing at least five to seven gold-bearing structures. Recent drilling has extended the strike of this zone, known since 2014, a further 300 m to the southeast. In total, mineralization at Nyakagwe Village can now be confirmed over 600m of strike. Drilling results have provided confidence in the structural location of the mineralized zones, enabling the planning of a resource drilling program.
After further successful reconnaissance drilling, Tembo Gold Corp.
David Scott, President & CEO of Tembo, summarized the results as follows, “These results from Nyakagwe Village, along with the results from our other main target, Ngula 1, give us confidence that a significant resource will be delineated at the Tembo Project. Our team has gained a better understanding of the mineralization controls and has begun planning a resource drilling program at Nyakagwe Village.”
In total, Tembo has completed six diamond drill holes totaling 1,341 m at Nyakagwe Village during this phase, bringing the total number of meters drilled at this target to 30 holes totaling 4,898 m (including reverse circulation holes). The two holes completed in 2023 after the holiday drilling break returned best intercepts of: 4.59 g/t Au over 2.96 m from 148.68 m, including 7.19 g/t Au over 1.68 m; 4.79 g/t Au over 0.99 m from 181.31 m. Mineralization intersected in TDD0178 and TDD0177 extended the strike of the mineralized structures an additional 300 m to 600 m.
Nyakagwe Village is a 600 m long by 200 m wide zone with multiple southeast trending gold bearing structures open to both the northwest and southeast. The gold is hosted in sheared basaltic rocks with quartz carbonate veins and sulfides such as pyrrhotite and pyrite with minor chalcopyrite. There appears to be a strong association between a quartz porphyry intrusion and mineralization. Northeast trending structures are important secondary controls on mineralization, increasing both grade and thickness, and are associated with very wide intercepts and high grades in places. The current drill program has confirmed and extended the known structures, suggesting that further drilling to the southeast is warranted.

Conclusion: After a total of 30 reconnaissance drill holes primarily designed to improve the geological understanding of the mineralization at the two main targets, Nyakagwe Village and Ngula 1, Tembo is now ready to target and drill an initial resource. The conscientious evaluation of the reconnaissance drilling was a necessary precaution to optimally plan the upcoming resource drilling and operate at maximum efficiency with reduced risk.
