{kanada_flagge}Sitka Gold (CSE SIG / A2JG70) has completed a total of 16 diamond core holes totaling 5,250 meters on its RC Gold Project in the Tombstone Gold Belt of Canada’s Yukon this year as part of a summer drill program. The objective was to expand the so-called Black Jack Zone and provide Sitka geologists with a solid data base for a more detailed understanding of this highly prospective area. All data will also be used for a potential initial resource estimate.
At the beginning of September, Sitka presented the results of the first six drill holes from Black Jack and is now following up with results from five additional drill holes. The analytical results of the five remaining drill holes are still pending.
The Company now reports that highlights of the drill results presented were 19 meters of 1.03 g/t gold from 292.0 meters and 1.56 g/t gold over 10.1 meters from a depth of 104.6 meters in hole DDRCCC-22-033, and 132.1 meters of 0.51 g/t gold from 34.9 meters depth and 20.4 g/t gold over 1.1 meters from 282.9 meters in hole DDRCCC-22-036.

Thus, the second set of drill results from the summer drill program also delivers broad zones of anomalous gold grades near the core of intrusion-hosted mineralization in the area of the Black Jack discovery. There, drill hole DDRCCC-21-021 had returned 220.1 metres of 1.17 g/t gold from surface, including an intercept of 50.5 metres of 2.08 g/t gold.
As Sitka Gold CEO Corwin Coe points out, this mineralization, hosted in metasedimentary rocks intruded by intrusive sills and dykes, has also yielded significant intercepts of gold mineralization, as shown in the table above but also in previously released results. (116.0 meters at 0.65 g/t gold in hole DDRCCC22-29, among others.) However, not, as Coe further explained, in the same tenor as the mineralization contained in the intrusions.
In any case, the reported intercepts will contribute to the potential resource Sitka plans to drill in the Blackjack-Saddle-Eiger corridor while testing the metasediment-hosted mineralization where, among other things, they have already drilled 80 meters at 0.59 g/t gold (Saddle Zone). This lies approximately 600 meters east of the intrusive contained mineralization of the core area of the Black Jack Zone.
Sitka is now eagerly awaiting results from the five remaining holes in the summer drill program, several of which contain visible gold and have the potential to expand the intrusive mineralization of the Blackjack Zone. Geologists will also use all data collected during the first two phases of drilling to plan the next round.
