{kanada_flagge}Max Resource (TSX.V: MAX; OTC: MXROF; FRA: M1D2) has identified and successfully channel-tested multiple horizons of high-grade stratabound copper at its AM-7 copper discovery in northeastern Colombia. The AM-7 target lies within the 20 km AM district. Channel sampling of mineralized outcrops at intervals of 0.3 to 3.8 m returned 9 values of 4.0% copper and greater. 7 samples returned values greater than 2.0% copper, 18 samples were 1.0% copper and greater and 24 samples returned values of 10 g/t silver and greater. The high-grade copper-silver mineralization was identified in multiple, stacked horizons over an impressive strike length of more than 2 km and is open in all directions.

Several channel samples returned high grade values covering five historic open pit copper workings: 18.3% copper and 2 g/t silver over 1.5 m (419093); 6.0% copper and 48 g/t silver over 1.0 m (876707); 5.9% copper and 56 g/t silver over 1.5 m (876734); 5.0% copper and 138 g/t silver over 1.0 m (876711); 4.0% copper and 48 g/t silver over 1.0 m (878707). Additional channel testing is ongoing.
Brett Matich, CEO of Max commented, “The Cesar Basin rewards the perseverance of our experienced technical team, as evidenced by the discovery of AM-7 and the impressive assay results.”
Copper-silver mineralization is hosted in fine-grained sandstone and mudstones with chalcocite as the primary copper-bearing mineral. The exploration teams working the AM-7 target have identified several horizons of high-grade stratabound mineralization.
Since the start of the 2023 exploration campaign, Max Resources’ field team has identified 21 copper-silver targets in three different districts: AM, Conejo and URU. All three areas are located along a 90 km belt in the CESAR Basin. Max continues to intensify exploration in the Cesar Basin with the goal of delineating a new world-class copper-silver belt.

Chalcocite is the main copper-bearing mineral and is concentrated along the stratigraphic layers and as scattered grains. Malachite and azurite were also observed. Carbonaceous material has been associated with all mineralized strata.

Summary: Copper explorer Max Resources can essentially be considered a land bank and a cash bank. Max’s twenty-one mining concessions in northeastern Columbia cover a total of 188 square kilometers. According to its latest quarterly report, dated March 31 of this year, Max has cash reserves of CAD13.45 million. The company has rapidly identified exciting targets in a 90-kilometer corridor along the copper-silver-rich Cesar Basin and is currently evaluating these targets for possible drill testing. The mineralization at the discovery in the AM district is similar to copper shale deposits known in Europe. Unlike the deposits being mined in Poland today, the copper mineralization in Colombia is coming to the surface.
