Potential for multiple deposits?

Max Resource (TSX.V: MAX; OTC: MXROF; FRA: M1D2) has discovered new high priority drill targets in its ongoing exploration of the AM district at the Cesar copper-silver project in northeastern Colombia.

High-grade results from continuous rock chip channel sampling at the recently discovered AM-08 target returned intercepts of 2.6% copper and 58 g/t silver over 15.0 metres, including 3.5% copper + 77 g/t silver over 10.0 metres and 8.1% copper + 172 g/t silver over 1.0 metre. In addition, continuous chip channel sampling over mineralised outcrop at several locations west of the primary deposit returned values of 2.5% copper + 48 g/t silver over 2.0m; 1.8% copper + 18 g/t silver over 1.8m and 1.1% copper + 16 g/t silver over 5.3m.

The AM-08 target is characterised by the presence of two styles of copper-silver mineralisation: structurally controlled and stratiform sediment-hosted. The stratiform mineralisation at AM-08 has been mapped along a strike of 400 metres. The primary copper mineral is chalcocite, which occurs in multiple veins up to 3cm thick.

Brett Matich, CEO of Max commented, “The assay results from four outcrops at AM-08 are exceptional and make this a high priority target for Max. The high-grade results together with the combination of structural and stratiform mineralisation offer the potential for significant deposits. The field teams will now focus on expanding the stratiform mineralisation in the AM district along strike and identifying other locations where the stratiform and structural mineralisation overlap to form broader zones.”

Conclusion: Max Resource has now identified a total of 27 targets in three districts (AM, Conejo, Uru) along the 90 km long Cesar belt in north-east Colombia. It is important to remember the enormous dimensions of Max Resource’s project in order to properly categorise the new results in the AM district. The task now is to identify the targets with the greatest potential. The AM district in the far north of the Jura Basin is also many square kilometres in size. Peak values of 34.4 % copper and 305 g/t silver were documented in the sedimentary red layer sequences. Max has already shown with two exploration drill holes earlier this year that the stratiform mineralisation continues at depth. The recent discoveries at AM once again demonstrate the enormous potential for high-grade copper deposits that start directly at surface and could continue at depth.
