{kanada_flagge}Goliath Resources (TSX-V: GOT; OTCQB: GOTRF; FRA: B4IF) continues to provide more evidence of the presence of an extensive mineralized system at its Golddigger project in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle. Recent step-out drilling GD-22-30 from the New Gold drill pad on the northern edge of the exploration window immediately encountered 360 meters of mineralized breccia from surface. The New Gold drill pad is located 2.5 kilometers airline from the recently successfully drilled “Pad J” on the eastern edge of the exploration window. See Figure 1) This drilling thus extends Goliath’s mineralized footprint on Golddiger to 5.25 km², with mineralization further open in all directions. Drilling is continuing. Results are still pending.
Based on the mineralization confirmed at New Gold and the Surebet Zone traced down-dip for more than 1 kilometer on the north slope, which remains open at depth, the planned drill program has been increased from 24,000 meters to 27,000 meters to extend the extent of known mineralization in all directions from 2021.
Figure 1: Goliath reports 100 percent hit rate over a 5.25 square kilometer area and is expanding this year’s drill program by another 3,000 meters.
The New Gold hole is located in Hazelton volcanic rocks underlying sediments that host the Surebet mineralized zone and is 1 km north of the North Rubble hole. GD-22-30 targeted surface mineralization, including chip and grab samples from a quartz-chlorite breccia hosted in the Hazelton volcanic rocks. Previous exploration there has traced gold mineralization at surface for 400 metres with up to 30 metres of gold-bearing breccia grading up to 1.8 gpt AuEq. The bulk of the mineralized breccia from GD-22-30 consists of pyrrhotite (4% overall, up to 15% locally), pyrite (1%, up to 5% locally) and chalcopyrite (<1% overall, up to 5% locally) and looks similar to the gold-bearing breccia chip and grab samples collected from surface that returned up to 1.8 gpt AuEq.
Roger Rosmus, founder and CEO of Goliath Resources, stated, “We are very encouraged with how things are shaping up this year. This latest drill hole has opened the doors wide for many more new possibilities for our Surebet discovery. “.
Summary: To date, 100% of the drilling on and around the Surebet discovery has intersected broad zones of significant sulfide mineralization. That’s true for all 24 holes drilled last year and for all the holes drilled this season, which is just getting going. It is no wonder that Goliath is brimming with confidence and has increased its ambitious drilling program from 24,000m to 27,000m. Goliath has every reason to be confident: The Golddigger project is located near what geologist Jeff Kyba called the “Red Line”, which runs north-south through the entire Golden Triangle. This is a geological contact between Triassic rocks and Hazelton rocks (see above) of Jurassic age. Most of the Golden Triangle deposits are found within 2 kilometers of this contact zone, including KSM, Brucejack, Eskay Creek, Schaft Creek and Red Chris to name a few.
