{kanada_flagge}Goliath Resources (TSXV: GOT; FRA: B4IF) has intersected thick mineralization in Hazelton volcanic rocks at first go on the strategically located drill pad 15 on the southern spur of the Surebet discovery at the Golddigger project in British Columbia. While the mineralized horizon typical of the Surebet zone itself was missed, new data suggests that the Surebet mineralization at this location is shallower than thought. Accordingly, the drill rig from Pad 15 has since been moved to Pad 9 (see Figure 1), located 200 meters west of Pad 15, to target the Surebet system at depth. A second drill rig is currently testing the extension of mineralization to the north at “New Gold”.
Drill pad 15 is located 1.5 kilometers west of the “J Pad” drill pad where the first holes were drilled this season. J Pad in turn lies on the western edge of the “New Extension” zone, which is interpreted to be a geological extension of the known Surebet zone. Results from the three recent drill holes on drill pad 15 (see Figure 1) suggest a connection to the mineralization at J Pad, 1.5 km away. Goliath geologists suggest that the total mineralized system discovered to date may extend over an area of 5.25 square kilometers. Laboratory results from all holes drilled this season are pending.
Figure 1: All of the mineralization around the Surebet zone could be interrelated. Geologists suggest an exploration window of 5.25 km². Step-out drilling on “New Gold” to the north and “Lake” to the southwest will test this hypothesis.
The presence of several broad intervals of sulphides in the stratigraphically deeper Hazelton volcanic rocks confirms a robust mineralized system beneath the Surebet shear zone that cuts through the overlying sediments. Hole GD-22-28 on pad 15 intersected a wide 15.89 metre interval of sulphide mineralization from 17.46 metres to 33.35 metres with a 57.83 metre envelope of veins and chlorite-epidote alteration with sulphide traces from bedrock to 62.50 metres. Drill hole GD-22-28 targeted the projected level of the Surebet Zone modeled with intercepts and alignments from the 2020 channel intersections and 2021 drill hole data. Drilling data and new field observations indicate that the Surebet Zone orientation is shallower in the Pad 15 area and is therefore on a higher stratigraphic plane above Pad 15.
Hole GD-22-29 on pad 15 intersected three broad intervals of alternating sulphide mineralization and quartz-epidote-chlorite veins, stockwork and breccias from 4.46 metres (bedrock onset) to 53.89 metres (49.43 metre interval), from 64.27 metres to 86.20 metres (21.93 metre interval) and from 106.15 metres to 175.46 metres (69.31 metre interval). Hole GD-22-31 on pad 15 intersected a 98.99 metre interval of mainly disseminated sulphide mineralization associated with quartz-chlorite-epidote veins from 3.17 metres to 102.16 metres (98.99 metre interval)
The 2022 drill program is designed to expand the high-grade Surebet gold-silver discovery. Goliath will deploy a total of four drill rigs. Plans call for 24,000 meters of drilling in 84 holes from 24 pad locations. The majority of the drilling will be infill drilling, covering the Surebet Zone over an area of 2.1 km east-west and 2.5 km north-south, covering an area of 5.25 km² (see map below).
Roger Rosmus, Founder and CEO of Goliath Resources, states, “Drilling and data continue to demonstrate the presence of an extensive mineralized system underlying the property covering an area of 5.25 square kilometers; mineralization remains open in all directions. The discovery of these broad intercepts of mineralization in the Hazleton volcanic rocks is a welcome surprise that could potentially grow the project many times over.”

LiDAR imagery, drone imagery and field observations have identified several additional parallel structures within a 4 square kilometer area. Geochemical analysis has confirmed high-grade polymetallic gold-silver mineralization within these structures. The steeply dipping Real Deal and Cloud 9 structures and the extensional zone extensions have similar mineralization, geochemistry and texture to the Surebet zone. Geological observations at surface and in drill core indicate that the structural stress in the Surebet Zone is concentrated along its shallower dipping geometry. Real Deal and Cloud 9 are believed to be en-echelon structures that join Surebet at depth. The Surebet mineralized zone remains open in all directions.
Bottom line: the season has just begun. Six of 84 planned drill holes have been completed. Laboratory results are still pending for all holes. Meanwhile, Goliath is bringing in a second drill rig that is currently active on the northern “New Gold” target. Stuff for future news flow abounds. With each drill hole, there is a growing understanding of the relationships within the Surebet Zone and between the Surebet Zone and the underlying volcanic rocks. This is “exploration at it’s best”.
