Higher-Grade Sections Near the Surface
The success story continues! Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. (CSE:GCC; OTC:GCCFF; FSE:3TZ) can further expand the Halo discovery with another drill hole demonstrating gold mineralization over several hundred meters. This brings the known mineralization of the Halo Zone closer to the claims of neighbor Osisko Development!
As Golden Cariboo currently reports, drill hole QGQ24-19 intersected 349.36 meters grading 0.31 g/t Gold. This included both 164.97 meters at 0.44 g/t gold from a depth of only 7.85 meters and sections with significantly higher grades such as 11.27 meters at 1.12 g/t gold and 16.60 meters at 1.05 g/t gold. This leaves the Halo Zone open for expansion to the north and northeast, especially since drill hole QGQ24-19 was only terminated due to its proximity to Osisko Development’s claims.
High Continuity of Gold Mineralization Demonstrated
CEO Frank Callaghan’s company conducted the drill hole reported today as a long up-dip section to drill hole QGQ24-17 to determine the vertical continuity and geometry of the Halo Zone. Golden Cariboo succeeded in demonstrating high continuity of gold mineralization between these two drill holes, while the northern extension of the Halo Zone now, as shown, gives the zone a horizontal width of 292 meters (QGQ24-16 to QGQ24-19).
In this zone, the company says, high gold grades have been demonstrated in the southwestern part of the original discovery, particularly with drill hole QGQ24-13, which yielded 1.77 g/t gold over 136.51 meters. (We reported.) Subsequently, Golden Cariboo drilled QGQ24-20 and QGQ24-21 to test the continuation of mineralization from these earlier drill holes. QGQ24-20 encountered, as already reported, thick zones of quartz veins with visible gold – however, the assay results are still pending.
According to Golden Cariboo’s CEO Frank Callaghan, drill hole QGQ24-19 once again delivers an exceptional gold mineralization intersection, the likes of which he has rarely seen in his career. Callaghan also points out that it is a remarkable achievement to have defined a horizontal thickness of the zone of nearly 300 meters at this stage of exploration on the project. This makes the team very confident about further delineating the Halo Zone and exploring the known gold trend on the QGQ property, which extends over several kilometers that have not yet been explored.
