{kanada_flagge}Concurrent with its royalty model, EMX Royalty Corporation (NYSE American: EMX; TSX Venture: EMX; Frankfurt: 6E9) has gone ahead with 15 drill holes at its 100 percent owned Yarrol project in Queensland, Australia, to convince potential earn-in prospects that there are prospective targets for manganese and cobalt in addition to the known gold potential at the historic mining project. The first part of the plan has already worked out: The first two drill holes released have confirmed gold mineralization that has been produced at Yarrol in the past.
CONCLUSION: EMX Royalty’s recent drilling success puts its Australian Yarrol project in the promotional shop window. The gold grades confirm the values that have historically been mined at the project. What is really exciting are the 13 outstanding drill results that targeted suspected manganese mineralization. EMX is the first company to test this potential at Yaroll. If results are positive, the group of potential earn-in candidates could expand significantly.

Hole DD22-YA187 intersected 17.8 meters of 4.01 g/t gold from 61 meters depth. A second hole (DD22-YA188) intersected several intervals of gold mineralization, including 12 metres of 0.91 g/t gold from 92 metres. EMX geologists estimate the true width to be between 50% and 70% of the reported drill intercepts. Of note, the selected sample intercepts from both holes began and ended within gold mineralization; additional intercepts from both holes are being tested and analyzed.

However, in addition to zones of gold and copper mineralization, the Yarrol project also contains areas of manganese oxide mineralization with cobalt enrichment, as well as heavy mineral sand deposits. In addition to the two deep core holes DD22-YA187 and DD22-YA188, 13 shallow diamond and aircore holes were drilled targeting manganese-cobalt mineralization and mineral sands. EMX expects to receive initial results from this drilling in the coming weeks.
In late 2021, EMX geologists had encountered zones of manganese oxide mineralization with cobalt enrichment on the north side of the project area. This discovery prompted EMX to expand its land holdings as well as new exploration targeting the manganese and cobalt mineralization. Surface sampling showed that the manganese oxide mineralized zones encountered consistently averaged over 1% cobalt, in addition to enrichments of nickel and copper (see EMX press release dated January 4, 2022).
The 55,900 hectare Yarrol project is located between EMX’s Queensland Gold project and Evolution Mining’s Mt Rawdon gold mine and extends along the Yarrol regional fault zone. Several other historic mines and active exploration projects lie along the structural trend of the Yarrol fault. Historic gold mining activities occurred at Yarrol from the 19th century through the 1930s, with the average grade of historic gold production being ~10 g/t. Further exploration work and assessments completed in the 1980s and 1990s led to the definition of two historic gold resources at the Yarrol project. As confirmed in holes DD22-YA187 and DD22-YA188, gold mineralization at Yarrol is in the form of quartz sulphide veins and silicification zones.
