{australien_flagge}South Korea’s three major battery manufacturers, LG Chem, Samsung SDI and SK Innovation, plan to invest $35.3 billion over the next decade. They are banking on good cooperation with the Australian resources industry, as evidenced by South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s recent four-day visit to Australia.
EcoGraf Limited (ASX: EGR; FRA: FMK; OTCQX: ECGFF) is specifically positioning itself with its HFfree battery anode materials to meet the expected increase in demand for battery minerals – including from South Korea. Detailed planning for the first HFfree Battery Anode Material (BAM) factory in Western Australia is well underway. Ecograf is working intensively to optimize the technology and integrate new product lines for the expanded 20,000 ton plant.
A number of important issues have already been resolved: The plant engineers have confirmed the suitability of the process design, which will allow the final selection of equipment. The approval studies required by the Australian authorities for noise, air emissions and bushfire management are complete and have been submitted to the relevant authorities. In parallel, key long-term equipment has been ordered from overseas and the EcoGraf project team has been expanded again to manage key supply contracts, site services, utilities, and operational readiness aspects (logistics, reagents, etc.).

The company’s state-of-the-art battery anode materials facility in Western Australia will utilize its unique, patent-pending EcoGraf™ HFfree processing technology. The plant will be the first of its kind in the world and will provide high-quality, sustainably produced battery anode material products for the anode, lithium-ion battery and electric vehicle markets.
