Homerun Resources: World-class expert to drive strategic development
Homerun Resources (WKN A3CYRW / TSXV: HMR) is working to implement the second stage in the company’s strategic plan to become a leading energy and industrial materials company. The first stage, the acquisition of a high-yield source of high purity silica sand (HPQ) in Brazil, has already been successfully completed. Now the company can report the addition of, according to Homerun, a world-class expert as CTO (Chief Technology Officer).
Just recently, also as part of the second of three strategic development stages, the company engaged the experts from Encos Consultoria E Construcoes Ltd. of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. They are to assess infrastructure requirements and prepare plans for mining, logistics, transportation, storage and processing infrastructure to the company’s quartz sand operations in Bahia. Now Homerun announces that it has been able to recruit Dr. Mauro Cesar Terence as CTO.
Impressive expertise
And the professional career of Dr. Mauro Cesar Terence is definitely impressive! A degree in chemistry from the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (1994) was followed by a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo (1996) and a doctorate in nuclear engineering from the Universidade de São Paulo (2002). In addition, Homerun’s new CTO has experience in materials and metallurgical engineering, particularly in the following areas: Advanced Materials, Nanomaterials, Biomaterials, Ceramics, Compounds and Polymers.
Homerun CEO Brian Leeners explains that, as the company is in the process of building a major materials company, it needs a world-class materials and metallurgical scientist for the position of chief technical officer. And this is exactly what they have now found in Brazil, where the company’s HPQ deposit is also located. Dr. Mauro Cesar Terence will be responsible for processing, materials research and development, end product development, and related business development for the company, the statement added.
Second stage of development can be advanced
The second phase of Homerun’s strategic plan mainly covers infrastructure and logistics. Of course, it would be possible to simply sell HPQ silica in its natural form. However, if a company wants to gain access to many, better-paying end uses, the raw sand should be processed, i.e., washed, calibrated and refined, before it is used. As part of the second phase of its strategic plan, Homerun Resources is focusing on integrating infrastructure and logistics for mining, transporting, storing and processing HPQ silica. And here, as well as in other areas, the expertise of Dr. Mauro Cesar Terence should be invaluable to the young company.
