{australien_flagge}Tennant Minerals (ASX: TMS; FRA: UH7A) is following the lead of its latest IP geophysical measurements and is promptly writing the next chapter of success at its Bluebird high-grade copper-gold discovery in the Northern Territory of Australia.
CONCLUSION: The immediate correlation between recent IP measurements and subsequent drilling success in hole BBDD0018 provide a critical new twist to the Bluebird discovery. Geologists are accumulating more and more evidence that IP measurements at Bluebird and beyond can precisely visualize the fingerprint of the otherwise blind but high-grade copper mineralization at depth. The extension of Bluebird to the west and to depth, informed by IP data, would fully demonstrate the effectiveness of this geophysical tool. The two holes, BBDD0018 and BBDD0019, have the potential to become game changers. If proven successful, Tennant could use IP data in the future as the key not only to increasing Bluebird’s footprint, but to developing the entire Bluebird-Perseverance mining camp, including the twelve targets identified therein.
The discovery of two new high-grade thickened zones, both at depth and to the west at Bluebird, could provide the potential for a multi-million tonne resource alone. Such dimensions are known from the nearby Peko deposit, among others (past production 3.7 million tons at 4% Cu and 3.5 g/t Au). But Tennant sees a much bigger opportunity.
The company has already commissioned a second multi-purpose drill rig (RC/Diamond) to test other IP targets within the Bluebird – Perseverance target zone. The primary target will be an exceptionally strong magnetic-gravitational feature with a signature much larger than Bluebird itself. High-grade gold intercepts have been found below the historic Perseverance gold workings in previous RC drilling, but the copper-gold target suspected by Tennant geologists below was not followed up. That is precisely what Tennant aims to do.

In particular, the latest drill hole BBDD0018 has exceeded expectations. It is the furthest west hole drilled on the project to date. This hole intersected at shallow depth a 32.5 metre intensely mineralized zone with a core zone of seven metres containing 60% massive copper sulphides (chalcopyrite and minor chalcocite). The laboratory evaluation of the copper grades is still pending. Nevertheless, it can already be said that the Bluebird discovery thickens considerably to the west in the direction of the measured IP anomaly and forms a kind of saddle. The IP data suggests further that the mineralization is open to the west. Tennant intends to test this zone with further drilling in the near future.

At the same time, Tennant is testing deeper extensions of the Bluebird discovery below the deepest hole to date, BBDD0015, with the current hole (BBDD0019). There at BBDD0015, 17.8 m @ 3.7% Cu, 0.34 g/t Au had been measured from 277 m (including 9.5 m @ 6.0% Cu). Tennant suspects that the Bluebird ore body is also open to depth where it also appears to be thickening (Figures 2 and 3).
