{kanada_flagge}The focus of Canadian gold explorer Goliath Resources (TSXV GOT / WKN A2P063) is clearly on the spectacular Surebet discovery at the Golddigger project. But that doesn’t mean Goliath has forgotten about its equally promising Lucky Strike property. Because the company, led by CEO Roger Rosmus, plans to drill a total of 2,000 meters there this year.
In doing so, Goliath is targeting two new, high-grade mineralized gold targets that are outcropping at surface and have not yet been drill tested. These two targets, Goldsource and Bullseye, are fully permitted for drilling. At Golddigger, 18,000 meters of drilling are planned this season, which should bring the company to approximately 20,000 meters of drilling overall, this year.
Lucky Strike covers 31,486 hectares directly north of Terrace, British Columbia, approximately 100 kilometers further south than Golddigger. The property is located in a world-class geological terrane, the Skeena Arch, a belt-scale structural corridor associated with significant porphyry and related mineralization. The property is located within 2 kilometers of logging access roads with direct access to hydroelectric dams and paved highways in close proximity to major infrastructure in Terrace.
Goliath has identified the new drill targets through follow-up surveys and mapping at Lucky Strike, and has also discovered several other prospective potential gold targets that it now intends to explore further. Ultimately, the Company may generate several additional high-grade drill targets for the coming year.
Goldsource, the first target for this year, is a high grade, gold breccia target that outcrops at surface. Here, samples had detected up to 96.8 g/t gold and 78.10 g/t silver. Bullseye, on the other hand, is a gold and copper porphyry target that also extends to surface. Here, samples had detected up to 3.06 g/t gold, 1.8 g/t silver and 1% copper.
Goliath CEO and founder Rosmus says Goldsource and Bullseye have confirmed the presence of significant gold mineralization at Lucky Strike, and the company is looking forward to testing these targets with drilling for the first time. At the same time, they will be taking a closer look at numerous newly identified gold targets with “high discovery potential” on Lucky Strike. With the activity at Lucky Strike and the 18,000 meters of drilling at Golddigger, this exploration season should provide for strong news flow. The fact that Goliath is now advancing its second “iron in the fire” again, is very welcome to us.
