A hint of what is hidden beneath the surface
After Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd (CSE:GCC; OTC:GCCFF; FSE:3TZ) achieved truly spectacular success with the first drill holes at the newly identified Halo Zone of the Quesnelle Gold Quartz property – including a game-changing 136.51 meters at 1.77 g/t gold – CEO Frank Callaghan’s company was understandably in a hurry to follow up on this. And Golden Cariboo seems to have succeeded, because as before, visible gold was also detected in the latest drill hole in the Halo Zone!
As Golden Cariboo has just announced, drill hole QGQ24-16, which reached a depth of 362.10 meters, also contains visible gold in numerous places! The next drill hole QGQ24-17 is also already being drilled and is currently at a depth of 343.21 meters.
Both holes, the company emphasizes, have also encountered extensive quartz-carbonate veining and alteration. This is promising as Golden Cariboo is aiming to extend the gold mineralization recently identified in the Halo Zone with holes #16 and #17. So, hole QGQ24-16 was drilled at an azimuth of 315 degrees and a dip of -45 degrees, while QGQ24-17 is drilled at an azimuth of 000 degrees and a dip of -45 degrees.

Further exploration work completed
Prior to the new drilling, Golden Cariboo had already initiated a soil geochemical survey program using the Mobile Metal Ion method near the Halo and North Hixon zones and a mapping program targeting the Halo, North Hixon, Main zones and beyond. Both exploration programs have now been completed.
According to the company, MMI ground surveys are particularly effective at detecting pathfinder elements for gold mineralization through till cover, which will be helpful for further exploration. With the field mapping, Golden Cariboo geologists already have identified potential structural controls on mineralization as well as the kinematic history of the area and the geometry of the system.
According to Golden Cariboo CEO Frank Callaghan, the successes to date have only scratched the surface of a “massive” gold system. At the same time, however, the outstanding work of the team of geologists has already improved the understanding of the structurally controlled gold deposits. In addition, Mr. Callaghan added, the results of the MMI survey should at least give the technical team a hint of what is hidden beneath the surface – even if there is till cover there. On another positive note, the Golden Cariboo CEO emphasized that as drilling in the Halo Zone continues to deliver visible gold, the company expects to be able to deliver exceptional results in the future, too. And, Mr. Callaghan continued, drill hole QGQ24-17 has shown additional quartz veins and weathering in areas not previously tested. Which means additional potential.
