New trends to be defined
Just recently, Golden Cariboo Resources (CSE GCC / WKN A402CQ) attracted the attention of the market with spectacular drill results. The first results from the Halo Zone, which is part of Golden Cariboo’s Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine project (QGQ) – 136.51 meters of 1.46 g/t gold – made the potential more than clear. Now, as the company awaits the results of two additional holes that returned visible gold in multiple locations, advanced geochemical surveys are being used to try to further delineate this and other mineralization trends at QGQ.
To this end, Golden Cariboo is now sending crews to the QGQ property to carry out a so-called MMI soil survey. This geochemical survey (MMI = Mobile Metal Ion) is capable of detecting even hidden mineral deposits.
The ideal technology for QGQ
The survey will cover 12 line-kilometers and include the area around the Halo Zone discovery from which the most recent drill result was obtained. In addition, the areas around the North Hixon Zone and the historic Quesnelle Quartz Mine will also be investigated. Golden Cariboo hopes to delineate the northwest trends of gold mineralization in these zones and test for other parallel trends on the property.
According to David Mark, principal of Geotronics Consulting Inc., MMI is an advanced ground investigation method that works in areas with different soil types and targets at depth. This, according to the expert, makes MMI ideal for advancing exploration at the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property. This is because, Mr. Mark continued, MMI can be effective both in delineating areas of known mineralization and in delineating targets on a property as a whole.
Of course, Golden Cariboo investors and shareholders are now eagerly awaiting the next assay results from the Halo Zone. But it is good to see that the company is not sitting on its hands in the meantime, which would have been surprising, though, in view of the great drilling success. We now hope that the MMI technology will provide Golden Cariboo with further insightful information on the mineralization at QGQ and the Halo Zone in particular, which could perhaps take the exploration of the property another important step forward.
