First Phosphate Corp. (CSE: PHOS; FSE: KD0) is on track to establish a maiden resource estimate this year at its Bégin-Lamarche phosphate project in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean region, Quebec, Canada. This is the interim summary following the evaluation of 20 drill holes from last winter. A total of 4,274 meters were drilled during that drill program.
The company reported today that two main zones were discovered with multiple open-pit accessible phosphate-bearing strata. The northern zone consists of four main layers, each 375 meters long, with an average thickness of at least 60 meters (see Figure 1). The strata appear to be open in all directions. The southern zone includes at least two layers up to 1,500 m long with an average thickness of 100 m. The mineralized strata were drilled to a depth of at least 200 m. Both zones are located within a larger 2,500 m strike zone.
Peter Kent, President of First Phosphate stated, “These drill results confirm our expectations regarding the size, grade and world class phosphate potential of our Bégin-Lamarche property. With another light drill program, we should be able to initiate a 43-101 resource estimate for this property later this year.”
A second 2,000m drill program is planned for the northern zone of the Bégin-Lamarche property. The objective of this infill program is to drill the known phosphate strata on a 100 m by 100 m grid with a view to commissioning a 43-101 resource estimate for the Bégin-Lamarche property later this year.

Summary: Phosphate projects require good grades, good access to infrastructure, and most importantly, proximity to port to be successful. First Phosphate is a first mover in Canada, fully committed to the mining and purification of phosphate for the production of active cathode material for the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery industry. First Phosphate plans to vertically integrate from the mine directly into the supply chains of major North American LFP battery manufacturers who require battery-grade active LFP cathode material sourced from a reliable and secure supply source.
