Furious Start to the 2025 Drilling Program
In 2024, Sitka Gold (WKN A2JG70 / TSXV SIG) demonstrated an enormous 678.1 meters averaging 1.04 grams of gold per ton with drill hole 68 in the Blackjack gold deposit, including 93 meters with even 2.57 grams of gold per ton! With the first drill hole of the 30,000-meter drilling program planned for 2025 (DDRCCC-25-075), Sitka aimed to test both the vertical and horizontal extent of this high-grade mineralization – and now reports that they observed visible gold an impressive 130 times in the obtained drill cores!
This drill hole, with its length of 715.97 meters, is one of the longest drillings Sitka has conducted on Blackjack so far. After an initial examination of the drill cores, the geologists are now convinced that strong gold mineralization extends at least 70 meters northeast from drill hole 68. As Sitka’s CEO Cor Coe explains, the increasing grades at depth in drill hole 68 already indicated that they were working their way towards the source of the impressive gold system.

Even Underground Mining Conceivable
Sitka’s CEO hopes that the results of drill hole 75 will provide, among other things, an expanded understanding of the dimensions of the Blackjack mineralization zone at depth. Higher gold grades there, according to the company, could potentially even make underground mining possible below the limits of the previously delineated resource and the pit boundary designed for it.
Sitka recently reported a pit-constrained resource of 1.291 million ounces of gold averaging 1.01 g/t gold in the indicated category and 1.044 million ounces of Gold at 0.94 g/t gold in the inferred category for Blackjack. With the next drill hole of this year’s program (DDRCCC-25-076), the company now aims to explore the Blackjack zone at even greater depths. To achieve this, the hole will be drilled from the same location as 75 but at a steeper angle.
Conclusion: While other explorers in the Yukon still have to wait for spring to arrive, Sitka Gold is already off to a furious start in the largest drilling program in the company’s history to date! 130 occurrences of visible gold in the very first drill hole of the 30,000-meter program are more than just promising. Of course, there’s no guarantee of extremely high gold grades; one must wait for the laboratory results. However, in our opinion, the chances of another direct hit like in drill hole 68 are extremely good, given the previous drilling successes and the proximity to the spectacular drill hole 68! The laboratory analysis cannot come soon enough now. In any case, Sitka should once again draw emphatic attention to itself in the market with today’s announcement – especially as the gold price currently seems to be sustainably breaking through the $3,000 per ounce mark.
