Exploration Activities to be Expanded in 2025
Is Golden Cariboo Resources (WKN A402CQ / CSE GCC) about to make its next discovery? The Canadian gold explorer, which identified the impressive Halo Zone in 2024 and began delineating it through partly spectacular drilling, now reports that two additional MMI (Mobile Metal Ion) soil anomalies of considerable size have been discovered beyond the previously demonstrated extent of this zone.
Earlier this year, the company had already utilized this modern tool and reported a zone with anomalous gold content extending over a strike of approximately 1,700 x 500 meters. (We reported) Golden Cariboo’s geologist David Mark has been able to gain new insights from a detailed analysis of the MMI data and has shown that in this area, the gold anomalies are associated with known gold mineralization, which has been demonstrated through channel sampling and diamond core drilling.
MMI Surveys Prove to be an Extremely Valuable Tool
This in turn means that the MMI technology is invaluable for delineating gold targets on the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property! Numerous gold anomalies have now been identified in the area explored with MMI surveys, which can serve as targets for future exploration work.
Two of these targets stand out particularly, according to Golden Cariboo. Firstly, a gold anomaly in the northern part of the surveyed area at its eastern border. This is the strongest anomaly on the property and extends over an area of 240 meters in a northerly direction by (at least) 135 meters in an easterly direction, where the anomaly also remains open. The southern boundary of the anomaly is only about 260 meters north of the location of drill hole QGQ24-20. The company recently reported excellent results from there, including 0.99 g/t gold with 9.8 g/t silver over 236.88 meters! (We reported)
In addition, there is a gold, copper and silver anomaly with anomalous values of arsenic, cadmium, cobalt, molybdenum, lead, antimony and zinc. This is located at the northern end of the survey area and extends over an area of at least 200 meters northward by 500 meters eastward and remains open to the north, west and east. The southernmost boundary of this anomaly is about 600 meters north of the location of drill hole QGQ24-20.
According to Golden Cariboo’s geologists, these anomalies are very interesting exploration areas and, as recommended by David Mark, the company will expand its sampling and drilling activities to cover these two zones located in the northern part of the property during the 2025 exploration season.
More work for the team, but of course also more potential. We are excited!
