{kanada_flagge}A.I.S. Resources Limited (TSX: AIS, FRA: 5YHA) has completed soil geochemical sampling at its Fosterville-Toolleen gold project in Victoria, Australia using a technology called Ultratrace. This looks for traces of pathfinder elements such as gold, arsenic, copper, lead and eight other elements that should provide information about underlying mineralization. These results are now available (see Figures 1 and 2) and reconfirm the potential of the drill targets, according to geologists.
Phil Thomas, CEO of AIS Resources, commented, “The spatially concentrated multi-element results suggest a source possibly related to primary gold occurrences in Ordovician age rocks where the minerals form. Also considered is the possibility that they may be paleochannel gold deposits.”
Fig. 1 The red and yellow dots show the gold trend along the faults, which are shown as black dashed lines.
Fig. 2 The red and yellow dots show the trend of copper soil along the faults shown as black dashed lines.
Summary: Exploration at Fosterville-Toolleen just 12 kilometers from the world-class Fosterville mine is something for the advanced. On the surface, the deposit is blind, i.e. only very fine indications exist, mainly in the form of so-called pathfinder minerals. Chief geologist Denis Walch knows the procedure from the time when he worked for neighbor Kirkland Lake on its Fosterville project. In principle, AIS Resources is now following the same procedure to minimize the risk of upcoming drill holes as much as possible and maximize opportunities. In the end, however, the market wants to see drill results and, of course, preferably a Fosterville 2.0. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
