Robust gold mineralization seems to be present
The first two holes of Sitka Gold (WKN A2JG70 / TSXV SIG) ongoing summer program at its flagship RC Gold project in Yukon, Canada, have returned bright results – literally. Drill holes DDRCCC-24-061 (hole 61) and DDRCCC-24-062 (hole 62), south of the Blackjack gold deposit, both intersected visible gold in multiple locations (see Figure 1).
In both holes, abundant shallow quartz veining with visible gold was intersected in both intrusive and metasedimentary rocks. Initial observations from these holes indicate that robust gold mineralization is present up dip and extends to surface. Drill hole DDRCCC-24-063 is currently underway. It is located 100m further south than hole 62 to test the suspected continuation of higher grade gold mineralization along the newly identified Blackjack mineralized corridor south of the Blackjack gold deposit. Six drill holes totaling 2,636 metres have been completed so far this year and a second drill rig has been brought to the project site to test additional high-priority targets within the recently consolidated Clear Creek intrusive complex (see Figure 2) as well as other drill-ready targets on the 431 square kilometer RC Gold Project this summer.
Figure 1: Examples of visible gold observed in recently completed drilling at the RC Gold Project. Multiple occurrences of visible gold were observed in hole 62 ranging from 76 m to 526 m in length; the most common visible gold encountered in the metasedimentary rocks in drilling to date was observed in hole 61.
Cor Coe, CEO and Director of Sitka Gold, commented, “The observations of strong mineralization, including multiple occurrences of visible gold in the first drill holes of the summer, continue to highlight the robust nature of this gold system and the potential to add significant tonnage to the growing Blackjack gold deposit. The current drilling targeted shallower mineralization above previous holes that intersected deeper, high-grade mineralization and we are now moving further south to follow up on this impressive mineralized gold system. Initial observations from these holes indicate that robust gold mineralization remains present up-dip and extends to surface.”
Figure 3: Overview map of recently completed drilling south of the Blackjack gold deposit. Drilling is currently underway in hole 63, which is an additional 100 m extension of hole 62 along the southern projection of the mineralized Blackjack Corridor.
Summary: The dashed line of the Blackjack Corridor in Figure 2 summarizes the Sitka Gold story at a glance. The Blackjack gold deposit already represents the largest and highest grade part of Sitka’s known gold resource. Each successful drill hole along the traced intrusive structure of the Blackjack Corridor has the potential to add additional high-grade tonnage to this resource. Through the acquisition of the Clear Creek Complex, Sitka now controls a 10 kilometer stretch along the Blackjack Corridor. In several places, the dashed line intersects historic gold discoveries, mostly at intersections with cross structures trending from southeast to northwest. Sitka is preparing to drill test some of these intersections this summer. This is what intelligent exploration looks like. We can’t wait to see the results.
