{kanada_flagge} The third drill hole at Goliath Resources’ (TSXV: GOT; FRA: B41F) Golddigger project has encountered the longest interval of mineralization measured to date on the Surebet Zone. Hole GD21-003 (165 m, 220°/-70°) intersected 78.0 meters of quartz-sulphide veins, breccias and associated alteration from 49.0 to 127.0 meters. The drill core is similar in nature to the drill cores from the first two holes.
The second drill hole, GD21-002, had intersected a 53.5 meter interval from 49.0 meters to 102.5 meters. Preliminary analysis indicates grades of 10% to 30% quartz veining with pyrrhotite, sphalerite, galena, chalcopyrite, silver-bearing tetrahedrite and possibly argentite and electrum. Goliath’s portable XRF point counts of possible argentite returned over 5000 g/t silver. Final assays are pending.
A fourth hole (GD21-004) is currently being drilled to the south from the same drill site as GD21-001, -002 and -003 and is designed to intersect the Surebet mineralized shear zone. A total of up to ~5,000 meters of drilling is planned on the Surebet Zone.
Dr. Quinton Hennigh, Goliath’s technical advisor, commented, “Drill hole GD21-003 is showing abundant sulphides, particularly base metal sulphides and sulphosalts. The intensity of mineralization appears to be increasing compared to the first two nearby holes, both of which were impressive. The thickness of the Surebet mineralized zone remains very strong. Considering that this hole extends furthest to the southwest on this northwest striking and southwest dipping structure, the system is clearly open to the southwest where its surface exposure dips below the debris cover. In fact, it could strengthen in that direction, which would open up intriguing possibilities. Goliath is exploring the possibility of drilling further to the southwest to test this hypothesis. In the meantime, we look forward to completing hole GD21-004, the last hole on this pad, before moving the drill north.”
Roger Rosmus, Founder & CEO, added, “The continuity of drilling to date strongly suggests the presence of a very large, high-grade precious metal system that has all the ingredients for the next major gold discovery in B.C.’s prolific Golden Triangle. With only 50 million shares issued and outstanding and a strong cash position, we have created an excellent position for our shareholders to add value in a short period of time.”
The fourth hole in the Surebet Zone, GD21-04 (with a targeted length of 150 meters, 170°/-70°), will be drilled in a southerly direction from the same drill site as the first three holes to further delineate the geometry (true width and orientation) of the Surebet mineralized shear vein in the Cliff Showing.
Goliath has planned up to ~5,000 meters of fan drilling from multiple drill sites to target the extensive gold-bearing quartz-sulfide veins at Surebet both along strike and at depth from surface outcrops at the Lower Waterfall, Waterfall, Main, Central and North Rubble occurrences. Surface sampling has delineated a strike length of 1,000 meters, vertical relief of 500 meters and down dip extension of 1,000 meters. Drilling will focus on testing the continuity of the high-grade gold-silver mineralized zone at depth, which has been exposed at surface averaging 9.84 meters wide and 10.68 g/t AuEq (with 7.59 g/t gold) and remains open (see Company news release dated November 25, 2020).
Conclusion: Gradually, the results from Goliath are reminiscent of the proverbial “shooting fish in a barrel”. We do not yet know the effective metal grades and the true thickness of the “sandwich mineralization” at Surebet has yet to be determined. But it is already clear that Goliath will be one of the big winners of this drilling season. After all, only three of perhaps 25 wells have been drilled. New discoveries are not made every day, even in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia, and certainly none that have been so beautifully laid out by Mother Nature as at Surebet. One cannot look at the 3D model of Surebet often enough to understand with which knowledge advantage Goliath started the current drilling campaign. What is openly exposed at Surebet, other companies must first determine through elaborate drilling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yLwYjgF0Jg
