Entwickler von Messgeräten für Hersteller von Solarmodulen

Die kanadische IT ­Firma entwickelt und liefert Inline­Prozessmessungs­, Analyse­ und Steuerungsanlagen für Hersteller von Solarzellen. ACU setzt dabei auf die Zukunft der Solarenergie und liefert ihren Kunden eine intelligente Steuerung für deren kritischen Prozesse während der Herstellung von Solarzellen. Dadurch wird Qualität und Rentabilität erhöht.

Modernste Technologie
Die größtenteils patentierten Produkte von Aurora werden von einigen der weltweit modernsten und angesehensten Herstellern von Solarzellen verwendet. Seit 2014 werden die Messgeräte DM­TM erfolgreich verkauft. Die nächste Produktreihe Insight­TM ist softwarebasiert und soll Mitte 2020 in den Verkauf gehen. Grundlage für ein weiteres Wachstum.

Erste Aufträge aus China
70% aller Solarzellen werden in China produziert. Dort endet 2019 die staatliche Subventionierung der Branche. Deshalb ist die Nachfrage nach effizienzsteigernden Systemen aus China sehr hoch, denn die Rohmaterial­ und Prozesskosten sind sehr hoch im Verhältnis zum Verkaufspreis der einzelnen Solarzellen. Produktionsverluste gilt es zu vermeiden.

Größte Einzelbestellung
ACU kann mit einer globalen Präsenz sehr schnell wachsen und will die Nummer Eins in der Solarbranche werden. Im September 2019 vermeldete ACU die größte Einzelbestellung. Das langfristige Ziel von ACU liegt bei 50 Mio. USD Verkaufserlösen. Das gesamte Marktpotential sieht der ITler bei 450 Mio. USD. Demnach sind weitere Aufträge zu erwarten.

Gordon Deans
President & Chief Executive Officer

Gordon co-founded the Company and has extensive experience in building high-growth technology companies. At Omron Adept Technology, a leader in advanced industrial robotics, he served on the team that led Adept’s turnaround to growth and profitability. At Norsat International, a supplier of satellite ground station equipment and systems, he led business development for their commercial technology products, advancing the company’s market from components to systems. Mr. Deans also spent 17 years with Nortel Networks and Bell- Northern Research in positions in R&D, product marketing and business development. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and is a Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Canada.

John McNicol

John is an executive advisor to a number of early-stage start-up companies. He was formerly the President and Co-CEO of Enwave Corporation (TSX.V: ENW, FSE: E4U.F) where he helped build the company’s strategy, royalty revenue streams, licensing and collaboration agreements with leading global players. Before Enwave, Mr. McNicol held positions as President, COO and Director of Concert Industries Ltd. and Merfin International Inc, two leading airlaid non-wovens manufacturers, as well as HSBC Securities, Pemberton Securities and LRJ Capital. Mr McNicol has considerable experience in equity and investment banking.

David Toyoda

David practices law in the corporate and securities area, focusing on companies listed on Canadian stock exchanges. He also teaches corporate governance and public financing at Simon Fraser University and the TSX Venture Exchange. He is the Past Chair of the Securities Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association (B.C. Branch) and was a member of the Securities Law Advisory Committee for the B.C. Securities Commission. David holds Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of British Columbia.

Kevin Dodds

Kevin is a Chartered Professional Accountant who brings 25 years of experience in finance and operations within multifaceted international businesses across diverse industries. Mr. Dodds is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Noram Engineering and Constructors, Ltd. and is a director and officer of its operating subsidiaries. He previously held financing positions with Export Development Canada and MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates.

Viktoriya Griffin
Chief Financial Officer

Viktoriya brings over a decade of experience to her role as Aurora’s Chief Financial Officer. She started her career by leading audit and assurance services for public companies with large international accounting firms, including Deloitte in the UK and E&Y in Canada. Most recently, she led the CFO services line at Clearline CPA, a firm providing professional accounting services to public and private companies. She is also an active supporter of her community as a Board member and the Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Vancouver.


Steve McDonald
Vice President, Business Development

Steve is Aurora’s Vice President of Business Development. He has 15 years of experience in applications engineering and technical sales for technology companies. Prior to joining Aurora, he held application engineering and technical sales management positions at Omron Adept Technology, a global robotics company specializing in high speed and high accuracy manufacturing processes. Steve holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BESc. Electrical Engineering) from the University of Western Ontario.
