This is the story of the surface work that led to their decision.
🎯 EPISODE 2: WE’RE BETTING EVERYTHING ON DRILLING HERE
Ricardo Sierra (VP of Exploration) explains the methodology:
February-March 2025: Start of surface exploration
Cartography, waypoints, understanding the geology
Tracking quartz veins along tracks and streams
Mapping mineralization corridors (northeastern and northwestern trends)
Similar structural patterns to Aris Mining next door
The evidence:
Stockwork veins visible for 500 meters along the road
Sericite alteration (white zones indicating underlying sulfides)
Copper wad minerals (black) indicating copper in the system
The system potentially extends for 4-5 kilometers
Two types of targets:
Tahami South: High-grade vein system (similar to Aris)
Tahami Center: Potential porphyry system with associated gold veins
Ricardo’s opinion: “Best of both worlds”
Historical validation:
Over 200 years of mining in the region
Artisanal underground mines 200 meters away
Miners follow gold-bearing veins
Further historical mines are located 200 m east and 600 m west, further defining the mineralized corridor.
The challenge:
Everything indicated starting the drilling program. Then the parts didn’t arrive. Drilling delays.
Alexandre’s response: “I’m not leaving. I want to see the drill cores.”
📍 THE SETUP:
This episode shows how geological surface work narrows down the area for drilling. No discovery yet – drilling is required for that. But the surface findings convinced them that this location is worth betting on.
