Company & Strategy

RUA GOLD Inc. is a listed exploration company with a clear geographic and strategic focus on New Zealand. The company aims to systematically explore high-grade gold deposits in historically productive districts and advance them step by step toward development. In doing so, RUA GOLD combines classical geological approaches with modern exploration technologies and data-driven models.

The corporate strategy is based on three core pillars: first, controlling large, contiguous land packages in known goldfields; second, identifying expansion potential along historic structures and at depth; and third, early preparation of regulatory processes. New Zealand’s recently introduced “Fast-Track Approvals” process for mining projects supports this approach by accelerating permitting and making it more predictable.

RUA GOLD is therefore positioning itself not as a pure early-stage explorer, but as a company with a clear path from exploration through resource definition to potential development. This strategic direction is underpinned by a solid capital base and an experienced team.

Market Environment

Gold as a strategic commodity

Gold plays a special role in the global commodities and financial system. In addition to its industrial uses, it has served investors for decades as a store of value and a hedge against economic and geopolitical uncertainty. In recent years, gold has reached new highs, further increasing interest in high-quality, development-ready gold projects.

New Zealand as a mining jurisdiction

New Zealand has a long history of gold mining dating back to the 19th century. Historical production totaling more than 40 million ounces of gold demonstrates the country’s geological potential. At the same time, New Zealand is considered a safe jurisdiction with transparent legal frameworks, clear environmental requirements, and functioning infrastructure.

The current government aims to double exports from the mining sector within ten years. In this context, an accelerated permitting process has been introduced, benefiting advanced projects in particular. For companies such as RUA GOLD, which are already operating in established districts with existing permits and titles, this creates strategic advantages.

Project Portfolio

RUA GOLD is focused on two core project areas, both located in historically high-grade goldfields and exhibiting different geological characteristics.

Reefton Goldfields (South Island)

Overview and History

The Reefton Goldfields are one of New Zealand’s best-known gold districts. Since mining began in 1872, approximately 2 million ounces of gold have been produced from underground mines, at historical grades of around 9 to 50 g/t gold. The deposits are predominantly orogenic in nature and therefore belong to the gold systems that are typically high-grade worldwide.

RUA GOLD holds around 95% of the exploration licences in this district, thereby controlling a contiguous land package of more than 120,000 hectares. This dominant position enables a district-scale exploration approach.

Geology and Mineralization

The Reefton Goldfields are hosted in Ordovician rocks of the Greenland Group, consisting of metamorphosed sediments. Gold mineralisation is associated with shear zones and quartz veins formed during regional deformation events. Characteristic are associations of gold with arsenic and antimony, as also known from other major orogenic gold provinces.

Historic workings generally reached depths of up to around 700 metres. Areas below this remained largely untested due to technical and economic constraints, which from today’s perspective opens up significant expansion potential.

Key sub-projects and targets

  • Auld Creek / Pactolus Vein (Capleston):
This area hosts a newly identified quartz vein structure traced over more than two kilometres. Surface samples returned very high gold grades in places, and ongoing drilling programs aim to test the continuity and depth of the mineralisation.

  • Cumberland / Gallant Target:
In this area, high-grade, partly near-surface intervals have been identified, indicating structurally controlled gold mineralisation. Ongoing exploration is focused on strike extensions as well as deeper target zones.

  • Other areas (Lyell, Murray Creek, Ajax, Crushington, Southern Area):
These historic mining and exploration areas offer additional near-mine and greenfield targets, which are being investigated step by step as part of a data-driven prioritisation process.

Development approach

In the Reefton Goldfields, RUA GOLD is pursuing a clear development pathway. In parallel with exploration, studies are being prepared and permitting processes advanced. Proximity to a neighbouring mine currently under construction underscores the region’s attractiveness and the district’s infrastructure advantages.

Hauraki Goldfields – Glamorgan Project (North Island)

Overview and History

The Hauraki Goldfields are New Zealand’s most important epithermal gold-silver district. Since the 1860s, more than 15 million ounces of gold and over 60 million ounces of silver have been produced here. Well-known mines such as Martha near Waihi demonstrate the area’s long-term productivity.

The Glamorgan Project is RUA GOLD’s core asset in this district. It covers an area of around 15,000 hectares with several identified target zones.

Geological concept

Glamorgan exhibits classic features of an epithermal gold-silver system. These include extensive zones of silicification, quartz veins, and characteristic geochemical anomalies. Surface samples returned gold grades of up to 95 g/t, indicating high-grade zones at depth.

The main structure defined to date, Wires Ridge, extends for approximately 3.8 kilometres and has not yet been drill-tested. The project is therefore at an early, but geologically well-prepared, exploration stage.

Exploration and planned work

In recent years, RUA GOLD has completed extensive preparatory work, including detailed geological mapping, soil sampling, drone-based geophysical surveys, and mineralogical analyses. This work supports precise drill-target definition.

Planned activities for the upcoming exploration phases include ground-based geophysical surveys (CSAMT), additional infill soil sampling, and supplementary mapping. The objective is to clearly narrow down the most prospective zones for initial drilling campaigns.

Strategic location

The Glamorgan Project is located in close proximity to an advanced gold project operated by an established producer, underscoring geological comparability and increasing strategic interest in the region.

Outlook

RUA GOLD is in a phase of intense activity. The coming months and years will be characterised by ongoing drilling programs in the Reefton Goldfields, further development of the resource base, and preparation of initial economic studies. In parallel, the Glamorgan Project is being systematically advanced toward first drill tests.

The solid capital position enables the company to implement these programs without near-term financing pressure. At the same time, exploration success, resource expansion, and regulatory progress offer potential value drivers.

Management

RUA GOLD is led by an experienced management and leadership team with many years of expertise in the exploration, development, and financing of gold projects. Several team members have played key roles in the discovery, construction, or sale of mines and bring both international experience and specific knowledge of New Zealand’s mining sector.
