For some time now, we at Goldinvest.de have been closely following the developments at Sranan Gold (WKN A416C1 / CSE SRAN). This young gold explorer is active in Suriname, South America, and is about to launch its first drilling campaign on its Tapanahony gold project. This is a particularly exciting moment in the development of exploration companies!
Sranan has already carried out preparatory work on the Tapanahony project, including a Lidar (Light Detection and Ranging) survey and the re-evaluation of existing historical data. The company has interpreted this positively, suggesting that there are indications of three (!) parallel mineralization zones!
Drilling Program Significantly Expanded
This has led to the decision to expand the planned drilling program from the original 1,500 to now 10,000 meters (!), and to purchase two drilling rigs (Hydracore 2000) instead of just renting them for the duration of the drilling program. According to Sranan, this should make it possible to accelerate the drilling program on the one hand and significantly reduce drilling costs on the other.
Currently, Sranan’s geologists are already in the field taking samples from the active mining sites of local miners. This work will continue along the 4.5 km long Poeketi-Randy trend and subsequently along its extension. In parallel, Sranan states that ongoing cooperation with the community leaders of the nearby village of Poeketi allows the skills, regional knowledge, and workforce of the community to be incorporated into the company’s exploration efforts. (Overall, good relations with the local population are a must for any exploration company.)
The drilling rigs are expected to arrive in Suriname at the end of May, and according to Sranan, drilling will begin in the second quarter of 2025, following further on-site assessment and camp construction. The drilling work will be carried out by Johnston Exploration Consulting, a team of experts with extensive experience in Suriname and a proven track record in drilling performance. The company hopes this will further increase the efficiency of the drilling program.
As Dr. Dennis LaPoint, Executive Vice President Exploration and Corporate Development at Sranan Gold, explained: “Our team of local geologists is working with members of the local community, utilizing their skills and knowledge. The knowledge of local community members about ongoing sampling and mapping in areas with active mining is invaluable and will contribute to our drilling results.”
Conclusion: The excitement is building as Sranan Gold is on the verge of transitioning from the planning phase to the active drilling phase. This brings closer the crucial moment when it will become clear whether the company’s geologists were correct in their assumptions about the project’s potential. Therefore, now, before the dice are cast, is the best opportunity for investors who don’t shy away from the high risk of an exploration company to take a closer look at Sranan Gold (WKN A416C1 / CSE SRAN). We will certainly do so and will soon publish a detailed background report on the company.
