Immediately Achieved Highly Promising Results at the New Pukelman Target
Sitka Gold Corp. (TSXV:SIG; FSE:1RF; OTCQB:SITKF) seems to have proven its golden touch with the acquisition of the Clear Creek property in June this year. On the 8 by 15 kilometer addition to the 431 square kilometer RC Gold project in Yukon, the company has now immediately achieved highly promising results at the new Pukelman target. Visible gold and abundant sheeted quartz veins were observed in the first two diamond drill holes completed at the Pukelman Intrusion. Laboratory results are still pending. Additionally, Sitka has identified an east-southeast trending zone of sheeted quartz veins and breccias with visible gold in the so-called Contact Zone, located immediately south of the Pukelman Intrusion, near the Pukelman intrusion target. Surface rock samples there yielded up to 67.9 g/t Au. The Pukelman target is located along a five-kilometer corridor approximately halfway between the Blackjack resource to the north and the recently drilled Rhosgobel target to the south. In the area between the Blackjack and Eiger deposits, geologists collected 1,354 soil samples this season. The Pukelman Intrusion significantly expanded the gold-in-soil anomaly. Peak values of up to 1645.8 ppb Au (1.65 g/t Au) were found there.
The two drill holes DDRCCC-24-073 and DDRCCC-24-074 at Pukelman were drilled from the same location to test sheeted quartz vein mineralization in the Pukelman Intrusion, where historical drill hole CCRC-92-1 returned 10.0 meters of 1.02 g/t Au and 4.0 meters of 1.55 g/t Au. The drilling was located approximately 500 meters north of the Contact Zone, where 2,368 meters of historical shallow reverse-circulation and diamond drilling yielded broad zones of gold mineralization such as 74.3 meters of 1.0 g/t Au as well as intervals of higher-grade mineralization including 10.7 meters of 20.46 g/t Au and 1.52 meters of 137.5 g/t Au.
Cor Coe, CEO and Director of Sitka Gold, commented: “Sitka’s first drilling at the Pukelman target has produced extremely encouraging results, with visible gold observed in both drill core and a surface rock sample that returned 67.9 g/t gold, highlighting the potential of this area to host strong gold mineralization. Since acquiring the Clear Creek property in June of this year, the company has made impressive progress, with initial diamond drilling at the Rhosgobel Intrusion yielding numerous visible gold occurrences and recently completing two diamond drill holes at the Pukelman Intrusion where visible gold was also observed in the drill core. Additional exploration work included an extensive geochemical soil survey that yielded up to 1,645.8 ppb gold between the Blackjack deposit and the Pukelman stock, as well as mapping and trenching with rock samples that returned strong gold mineralization. These results underscore the potential for the discovery of another intrusion-related gold deposit at RC Gold.”
Conclusion: To date, Sitka has drilled only 76 diamond drill holes with a total length of approximately 28,535 meters on its RC project in the Yukon. Of these, 20 drill holes with a total length of 9,263 meters were completed in 2024. The goal was to expand the initial resource around Blackjack, as well as explore new targets such as Rhosgobel and Pukelman, where there was previously only limited historical information from RC drilling. The accuracy and high efficiency of the drilling have become a hallmark of Sitka Gold. The highlight of the 2024 drilling so far was 678.1 m at 1.04 g/t gold from 4.4 m, including 409.5 m at 1.36 g/t gold from 273.0 m in drill hole DDRCCC-24-068. Assay results are still pending for a total of eight drill holes at Blackjack, Rhosgobel (5 km south of the Blackjack deposit) and Pukelman (2 km southeast of the Blackjack deposit), targeting known intrusion-related gold mineralization.
