Gold explorer Quimbaya Gold (CSE QIM / WKN A3DT3C), which plans to test its promising Tahami South project with initial drilling this quarter, now reports an interesting new addition to the Board of Directors who has extensive expertise in South America.
Mr. Sebastian Wahl has been active in the mining industry for 15 years, focusing on precious metals trading and corporate development. Among other roles, Mr. Wahl was co-founder and Vice President of Corporate Development at Silver X Mining, a silver company operating in Peru. He also played a crucial role in the consolidation and development of assets in South America, benefiting from his fluency in Spanish. In our view, this is definitely a strengthening of the Quimbaya team.
Site Visit Recently Completed
Even before his appointment to the company’s Board was made official, Mr. Wahl traveled to Colombia to get a firsthand look together with Quimbaya CEO Alexandre P. Boivin. In his capacity as CEO of Pirin Capital, Mr. Wahl has prepared a report of his site visit, which we are making available for download here on Goldinvest.de. A few key points in advance:
- According to Mr. Wahl, there are direct indications of gold-bearing veins and mineralization visible on site, so in his view, doubts about the presence of gold have been dispelled! Mr. Wahl not only assessed the project itself positively but was also very impressed by Quimbaya’s technical team.
- As he explained, his on-site visit confirmed the team’s comprehensive expertise, their high proficiency in handling technological tools (mapping, databases, 3D software, drilling, etc.), and their work ethic as equally impressive.
- In any case, the new Board member’s confidence in the long-term potential of Quimbaya and the project in Colombia has been confirmed by the site visit.
Mr. Wahl writes: “After a personal assessment of the asset, meeting the team, and reviewing the progress on site, I am increasingly convinced of Quimbaya Gold’s approach and implementation. It is an advanced asset with high potential in a proven gold area, and the team’s methodical and structured approach enhances its long-term investment attractiveness. For current shareholders, [Quimbaya] is a strong ‘hold’; for new investors, it remains an attractive entry point before significant exploration results are achieved.”
