Strategic Step in Colombia’s High-Grade Gold Belt
Quimbaya Gold Inc. (CSE: QIM / Frankfurt: K05) has kicked off its first-ever diamond drill program at the 100%-owned Tahami South Project in Antioquia, Colombia. The fully permitted 4,000-meter campaign marks the transition from surface exploration to systematic drill testing in one of the country’s most prolific gold corridors.
Right Next to One of Colombia’s Best Gold Mines
Tahami South lies immediately adjacent to Aris Mining’s Segovia Mine, one of Colombia’s highest-grade and most productive gold operations, with average grades exceeding 10 g/t gold. Geological data suggests that the Segovia vein system extends across the property boundary onto Quimbaya’s ground – a target area that has never before been tested with modern drilling.
From Mapping to Drilling – Targeted Exploration
In 2025, Quimbaya completed extensive groundwork including geological mapping, rock and soil sampling, and geophysical surveys. This work outlined multiple drill-ready targets characterized by sericitic alteration, quartz veins, hydrothermal breccias, and elevated gold values.
Highlights from prior sampling include:
- Rock samples grading up to 11.21 g/t gold and 23.3 g/t silver
- Auger soil samples up to 59 ppb gold
- MMI soil samples up to 37.1 ppb gold
These results are accompanied by pathfinder elements such as arsenic, copper, lead, and zinc – classic indicators of epithermal gold systems.

A Clear Strategic Roadmap
CEO Alexandre P. Boivin sums it up: “The best place to find a mine is next to a mine. We are the first to apply modern exploration techniques here.”
The management team has followed a disciplined approach: from systematic data collection at surface, through structural modeling, to launching the drill campaign – demonstrating both operational competence and execution discipline.
Benchmarking Against Regional Success
Quimbaya’s drill targets clearly benchmark against the Segovia Mine, where confirmed grades above 10 g/t gold illustrate the potential impact of a discovery at Tahami South. Any high-grade intercept could significantly enhance the company’s valuation.
Outlook – Why This Is a Pivotal Moment
Drilling has been underway since early August, with first results expected in Q4 2025. In parallel, Quimbaya is preparing follow-up drilling to quickly expand any successful hits and to test additional targets. Positive results could not only increase the project’s value but also elevate the company’s profile within the Colombian gold sector.
For investors, this is a pivotal stage – the moment between geological theory and potentially proving up a high-grade discovery right next to a world-class producing mine.
