PTX Metals: Preparatory Work for New Gold Drilling Program at Shining Tree Started

Gold Barren Formation Metals

At the Shining Tree gold project in the South Timmins region of the Canadian province of Ontario, PTX Metals Inc. (TSXV: PTX / WKN: A0MVNG) has begun preparatory work for a new exploration program. The program aims to reveal the geological nature of a larger target area. It is believed to be directly or indirectly related to the Ridout-Tyrrell Deformation Zone. Numerous mines and gold properties are located along this deformation zone, including the neighboring McFarlane’s Juby Deposit project and the Cote Gold Mine operated by IAM Gold.

Both projects are representative of the attractiveness of the South Timmins mining properties and thus of the great potential of the region. For this reason, PTX Metals now wants to provide evidence that the claims controlled by the company have also been generously endowed with mineralized rock by Mother Nature.

To provide this evidence, PTX Metals has commissioned SRK Consulting to prepare a detailed structural analysis. It is intended to improve the understanding of the structure and geology of the gold mineralization and thus help to improve the exploration strategy. If this goal can be achieved, PTX Metals will have a better starting position for its exploration activities and will be able to optimize its drilling strategy and discover new gold zones as well as further highly mineralized offshoots of the known mineralization.

PTX Metals is Investing Time and Money to be Able to Present Faster and more Reliable Drilling Successes in the Future

As another subcontractor, Terrascope Inc. will carry out a magnetic survey. The target area covers an area of approximately 8,000 hectares and the survey is planned to be carried out at a detailed spacing of 35 meters. Following the magnetic survey, the target area will also be subjected to a 3D inversion so that geophysical anomalies on the surface and at depth can be detected and further pursued. PTX Metals hopes to receive valuable support from an extensive geochemical database available to SRK Consulting.

In the run-up to the upcoming work, PTX Metals has consolidated important claims of the Shining Tree project. These include the Ronda target area, which lies in the core area of the property. Here, surface explorations in the last two years have led to the discovery of further high-grade zones along the main structural breaks.

A large-scale stripping and channel sampling program in February 2024 yielded excellent gold grades of up to 60.30 g/t gold over 0.50 meters within a larger section of 9.04 g/t gold over 16.15 meters. This clearly demonstrates the potential that the Shining Tree project already has at this early stage of exploration. This potential is complemented by Heenan Mallard, a second extremely interesting property over which PTX Metals has in the South Timmins Greenstone Belt, which is part of the larger Abitibi Greenstone Belt.

Two Hot Irons in the Fire of the South Timminis Greenstone Belt

The Shining Tree project extends west of McFarlane’s Juby deposit, while the Heenan-Mallard project is directly northwest of the Cote Gold Mine claims and runs along the trend of the main fault of the Ridout-Tyrrell Deformation Zone. The immediate proximity to two renowned properties of the South Timmins Greenstone Belt does not in itself guarantee that PTX Metals will be able to prove new deposits on its claims, but the direct proximity to producing gold mines is certainly not a locational disadvantage.

Greg Ferron, CEO and President of PTX Metals, put the upcoming work into a larger context before it began, stating, “The Company’s Shining Tree and Heenan-Mallard gold projects together cover an area of approximately 300 km2 and, thanks to successful exploration programs, new high-grade gold zones or a broad, near-surface discovery with lower grades have recently been identified. The projects are also located in a very active region in Ontario with excellent accessibility and proximity to large mines such as the Cote gold deposit. We are very interested in advancing the work at Shining Tree without delay.”

While work on Shining Tree is just beginning, the company is continuing its studies on the W2 project. It is and remains PTX Metals’ flagship project and is considered very promising for copper, nickel and the platinum group precious metals. Magnetic and inversion measurements were carried out here at the beginning of 2025. The evaluation of this data is nearing completion, so PTX Metals should soon be in a position to provide new insights into the expansion of the mineralization to depth and a refined target orientation.
