Just recently, Golden Cariboo Resources (CSE GCC / Frankfurt A402CQ) reported that the current drilling on the QGQ (Quesnelle Gold Quartz) property in British Columbia showed visible gold in numerous instances. Now the company has further announced that drill hole QGQ24-21 ended at a depth of 310.18 meters – and visible gold was observed there as well.
As Golden Cariboo explained, after 257 meters of hanging wall rock, drill hole QGQ24-21 encountered 53 meters of continuous, strongly sericite and iron carbonate-altered greenstone, which exhibited an intense stockwork of quartz-carbonate veins – with numerous instances of visible gold!
However, drilling had to be halted within this mineralized zone to avoid losing the equipment due to increasing instability of the borehole. As Golden Cariboo reported, visible gold was last discovered just 1.8 meters above the end of the drill hole.
The drill cores from QGQ24-21 have now been fully logged and samples are currently being taken. These samples are expected to be delivered to the ALS Canada Ltd. laboratory for gold and multi-element analysis in the coming days.
The next drill hole is planned to run approximately along the trace of QGQ24-21 to intersect the zone up-dip and to the north.
