Ricardo Evangelista – Senior Analyst, ActivTrades
The gold price fell on Monday after previously reaching a record high of around $4,550. The precious metal is still on track to achieve a gain of around 70% by 2025.
After reaching a new all-time high at the end of last week, it is only natural that there will be profit-taking before the end of the year, which has led to the price decline observed today. A slight increase in the US dollar and the White House’s cautious optimism regarding the prospects for a ceasefire in Ukraine also limited gold’s upward trend.
Outlook for gold remains positive
Nevertheless, the outlook for the precious metal remains positive, supported by expectations of a restrained monetary policy from the Federal Reserve, further reinforced by the continued political control by the Trump administration, as well as continued demand for safe-haven assets due to geopolitical and economic uncertainties.
