Before Goliath Resources (WKN A2P063 / TSXV GOT) embarks on its 40,000-metre drill program – nine drill rigs will be in operation – the company has already begun to re-assay some drill cores dating from 2021 to 2024. This involves drilling that intersected Eocene intrusive granitoid dykes that, in simple terms, run perpendicular to the numerous layered gold veins previously discovered at Surebet. During this re-examination, the company had already encountered numerous instances of gold visible to the naked eye in the first drill hole assayed – and now it turns out that these are directly associated with high-grade gold mineralization!
The analysis of drill hole GD-22-64, as just reported, returned 6.31 g/t gold equivalent over 14.35 meters, including 11.36 g/t gold equivalent over 7.85 meters from just such a gold-enriched intrusive granitoid dyke. And that’s just the first newly assayed hole of 2025!
As Goliath Resources points out, re-logging of drilling conducted between 2021 and 2024 has identified numerous intercepts of mineralization with abundant visible gold visible to the naked eye. Which means that the area of confirmed mineralization within the Surebet high-grade gold discovery has been significantly expanded once again for drilling!
Goliath Resources Discovers further Evidence of the Source of High-Grade Gold Mineralization
GD-22-64 alone contained numerous locations where gold up to 1 mm in diameter was visible to the naked eye. However, the company believes this is only one of numerous intrusive granitoid dykes with visible gold in the quartz veins that are believed to be directly related to the intrusion responsible for Surebet’s extensive, high-grade gold mineralization – the “Motherlode” source, as Goliath Resources calls it.
In addition to GD-22-64, the company has now identified numerous instances of gold visible to the naked eye in seven other holes drilled between 2021 and 2024, but never assayed for metal content before! No wonder Goliath Resources is continuing to re-log this drill core, as it clearly holds excellent potential for the discovery of further high-grade gold intercepts.
Following the Company’s identification of a new calc-silicate altered breccia in drill holes GD-24-277 and GD-24-280, the re-logging program of drilling from 2021 to 2024 has been expanded from a total of 50 holes to 75 holes. Most of these holes have intersected intrusive Eocene granitoid feeder dykes. According to Goliath Resources, a total of 3,390 meters of drill sample material will be re-logged and sent to the lab for analysis in the coming weeks.
Goliath Resources’ Findings are a Game Changer for the Entire Region
Incidentally, Goliath Resources is the first exploration company to discover and document gold mineralization in dykes of this age (Eocene), thereby changing an old-school narrative! The company has drilled high-grade gold of mineable widths hosted within these dykes. This represents a significant breakthrough and is a game changer not only for the Surebet discovery but also for other companies conducting exploration activities in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia!
Dr. Quinton Hennigh, geological and technical advisor to Crescat Capital, a strategic investor in Goliath Resources, also sees evidence of a direct genetic link between the known mineralization and a gold-bearing intrusive source in the system. He, as well as founder and CEO of Goliath Resources Roger Rosmus, regard the latest Surebet results as “incredibly exciting”.
The company’s model, Rosmus said, which assumes a robust district-scale mineralized system, is confirmed again. And the discovery of new high-grade intercepts within the intrusive feeder dykes, combined with the widespread visible gold discovered by re-logging and the identification of new mineralized host rocks such as the calc-silicate breccia, confirms the excellent additional discovery potential of the gold mineralization. It is particularly encouraging that the visible gold has occurred in several exploration and drilling campaigns and, according to Mr. Rosmus, there is a direct correlation with high-grade assay results!
Goliath Resources is looking to unlock the full potential of the exceptional Golddigger project with its aggressive drilling campaign this year and is also aiming to discover the source of all the high-grade gold mineralization. In addition, the company intends to extend the known mineralization both to depth and laterally. We think this summer will be very exciting for the company and its shareholders!
