Sarama Resources Ltd. - Goldexploration in Afrika
Die kanadische Sarama Resources konzentriert sich auf die Goldexploration in Westafrika und dort hauptsächlich Burkina Faso. Das Unternehmen von CEO Andrew Dinning hat dort bereits großen Erfolg gehabt und eine Ressource von 2,1 Mio. Unzen Gold auf dem South Houndé-Projekt sowie von 0,67 Mio. Unzen auf dem benachbarten Karankasso-Joint Venture nachgewiesen. Sarama und seine Joint Venture-Partner treiben derzeit beide Projekte voran.
Saramas Hauptprojekt ist South Houndé, das im reichhaltigen Houndé-Grünsteingürtel gelegen ist. Die Region ist für Goldvorkommen von Weltklasse bekannt, zu denen Semafos Mana-Goldmine, Roxgolds Yaramoko-Goldmine und das Goldprojekt Houndé von Endeavour Mining zählen.
Bereits im November 2014 ging Sarama eine Vereinbarung mit dem Bergbaugiganten Acacia Mining ein (ehemals African Barrick Gold). Dieser stimmte zu, 14 Mio. USD in die Exploration der Liegenschaft zu investieren, um sich so einen Anteil von 70% am South Houndé-Projekt zu verdienen. Mittlerweile hat Acacia bereits eine Beteiligung von 50% an dem Projekt erreicht. Der Minenkonzern kann seinen Anteil auf 75% aufstocken, wenn er eine Goldreserve von 1,6 Mo. Unzen nachweist.
T Sean Harvey
Sean Harvey is a founder and the Non Executive Chairman of Sarama Resources Ltd. Sean is currently Non Executive Chairman of Victoria Gold Corporation and Serabi Mining and a Non Executive Director of Perseus Mining. Sean was President and CEO of TVX Gold at the time of its sale to Kinross Gold Corporation in 2003 and, subsequent to that, was President and CEO of Atlantico Gold, a private company involved in the development of the Amapari Project in Brazil, that was sold to Wheaton River Minerals Ltd (now Goldcorp Inc.). He was also President and CEO of Orvana Minerals Corporation from 2005 to 2006. Sean holds a MBA, a Masters in Economics, a Honours BA degree in Economics and Geography and a law degree.
Andrew Dinning is a founder and the President and CEO of Sarama Resources Ltd. He has over 25 years experience in the international mining arena having worked in the Democratic Republic of Congo, West Africa, UK, Russia and Australia. Andrew has extensive mine management, operations and capital markets experience and has spent most of his career in the gold sector. He was a Director, President and Chief Operating Officer of DRC based Moto Goldmines Ltd from 2005 to 2009. Andrew oversaw the company's flagship Moto Gold Project (now Kibali Gold) develop from 4 million ounces of gold to +22 million ounces of gold and took the project from exploration to pre-development before Moto Goldmines was purchased by Randgold Resources and AngloGold Ashanti in October 2009.
Andrew has a MBA, a First Class Mine Managers Certificate (Western Australia) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) degree.
Simon Jackson is a founder, shareholder and Non Executive Director of Sarama Resources Ltd. He is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years gold industry experience in Australia and Africa.
Simon is an experienced mining executive and the Managing Director and CEO of Beadell Resources Limited. Simon was the Vice President Corporate Development and formerly the Chief Financial Officer for Red Back Mining Inc prior to its takeover by Kinross Gold Corporation in September 2010. He was an integral part of the senior management team that saw Red Back's market capitalisation grow from C$40 million in 2004 upon listing on TSX to over C$8 billion on takeover. While at Red Back, the management team financed, developed and constructed mines in Ghana and Mauritania which today produce over 300,000 ounces of gold per year.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Dave Groves has more than 30 years experience in precious-metals exploration, resource development and business-development. Most recently, Dave held the position of Vice President, Global Exploration for Centerra Gold where he lead and managed resource-development and greenfield exploration programs in Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Turkey, Russia and China. Prior to Centerra, Dave worked for Newmont Mining Corporation in exploration and business-development roles in North America, Australia, Europe and West Africa. During his tenure at Newmont, he participated in the discovery and delineation of the Leeville and Turf gold deposits on the Carlin Trend in Nevada, directed greenfield discoveries of Carlin-type and high-sulfidation gold deposits in the Tethys mineral belt in Turkey and Armenia and oversaw a major resource expansion at the Akyem gold deposit in West Africa. Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from the University of Maine at Orono and a Master of Science from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He is a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists and a Certified Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists.
